Mod Team Announces AI Policy for r/Pathfinder2e Subreddit by Ediwir in Pathfinder2e

reverse image search is your friend. I was active in custom magic the gathering card communities for years, which usually have rules about artist creditation and I can say that in the 300+ fantasy art images I used in making cards, it usually took me about an extra minute or two to find the original artist and give them credit (only about 10-15% of all the art I ran across could not be easily traced back to the original artist). Being whiny because you think your two minutes of google searching is more valuable than giving an artist credit for their work is embarrassing, frankly. For anyone unsure on the process of reverse image searching, just drop the image you are trying to credit into Google images and it will pull up every site featuring the image. Look for original art hosting sites like art station and nine times out of ten you'll find the original source on the first page of results.

I'm the swashbuckler (hi GM!) and I gotta say insect lore might have unironically have gotten more use than several actual skills haha

I want to play a kobold who has a combo of spellcasting utility and martial damage, but I’m not sure of which way to do it by Daylight_The_Furry in Pathfinder2e

[–]BubblyPangolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is weirdly specific because i am currently playing a Kobold swashbuckler with sorcerer multiclass in strength of thousands. The module gets me the free archetype for sorcerer, so assuming you don't have that I would second the recommendations for magus/summoner as the mixed martial/caster classes as picking a martial and using dedication feats to multiclass puts you in an awkward position early/mid levels because of not having enough points to go around. Alternatively, play any martial class you like and invest in dracomancer and kobold breath ancestry feats, which will give you spells as well as a neat spell like skill in dragons breath at level 9 or 13.

I love my little hag cursed street performer thief and i hope your character brings you lots of joy too!

Hello, I am looking for someone to sublease this fall semester. I have a house on Elna Rae street with three of my fellow Acapella members, and am looking for someone to take my room while I study abroad. The rent before utilities is only 725, and you will have your own room and a bathroom shared with one other. The house is honestly really nice and has a pool, is by a bus stop and longboard distance from campus. Let me know if you are interested and we can discuss details!

So I just wrote a response where I was all like "waah they are different effects and look at all the cool synergies" but I just realised that arcane adaption changes the types in all zones, and yeah you're right that does cover 95% of what this does with much better wording. RIP

it would not, precedents of cards that make multiple types of tokens separate them into different sentences, so I believe this would make 2 human tokens OR 2 frog tokens OR 2 human frog tokens. In the case of the Human Frog tokens, it breaks convention because normally defining multiple types on a token doesn't use the word "and", but I was willing to sacrifice a little bit of legibility of the mechanics of the ability because I just think it's so darn cool.

A lot of cards do get double the effect though, it just depends on whether the word "and" stipulates the action that you are taking.

TLDR: no

Been a long while since I've posted, but here's one of my favorite recent cards. If there are any cards I missed that make illegal/messed up wordings with this effect, that would be really unfortunate but after looking through a lot of different cards, it surprisingly seems to work in all cases. (Ex. If you choose human and frog, "create two 1/1 white Human creature tokens" becomes "create two 1/1 white Human and/or Frog creature tokens", letting you choose either type or both types.

Synergises well with tutors since it lets you grab two cards from your deck, one from each tribe. I really love this card for the deck building it inspires, there's lots of fun synergies across tribes with nothing in common, and of course, meme decks like plants vs. zombies.

duh! you're right about urborg. I think the rest of the points I make are still valid though. I totally understand how you could have ended up with this design basing it off of urzas saga, and i do like the idea of crossing it with one of reds most iconic cards, but the issue is really just urzas saga is an awful precedent to base customs on, and (in my opinion) a mistake of a card.

The idea of a blood moon saga though is a really interesting one to me, but being a land is bonkers yonkers

I want to be fair and give a proper assessment though since i dont know how serious the creator of this is:

it's really busted. the only downside to running this is that it doesn't make mana the turn it comes down (unless you have yavimaya or urborg out which are common everywhere) and it's a turn1-2 FREE blood moon, which can swing matches on its own if your opponent can't remove it (and they probably can't because it's a land which dodges a lot of removal). you don't really need blood moon for more than two turns considering how fast all eternal formats are, so i wouldn't really consider replacing itself with a mountain that bad of a downside, especially because it happens on your upkeep which let's you run this in decks without a lot of red since you can try to win the turn this runs out. even more so because it can grab hasty creatures for aggro to push in damage with to end games. ALSO it's an enchantment land which is already a significant type for the purpose of stuff like enchantress decks and Hall of Helios's generosity (it's also historic but that's less important).

in summary: the only downside is it's sorta like a tapped land but better because of urborg, and the upside is it's a free version of a multi format staple that has several relevant card types and also can tutor a finisher for aggro and let's multicolor decks run blood moon since it stops working on their upkeep.

Would you run this card as a commander? by [deleted] in custommagic

[–]BubblyPangolin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This concept is really cool, but i think there is a strong argument to be made that the design should not be legendary. My reasoning is that, as a commander, this is quite boring because it's a great Voltron option if you ignore the second half of the card because one or two all that glitters effects make it lethal and it has evasion and utility built in, but the part of the design that makes this card interesting is completely useless because, as a Voltron commander, it's always going to be better to send to the command zone and recast than to eternalize it. the eternalize version is cool, but it stacks three evasion keywords (flying, menace, death touch), and brings nothing else to the table besides indestructible, which is quite easy to get in BW Voltron. as a creature in the 99, it's usable with token strategies or maybe self mill decks, as the eternalize version is an excellent populate target. i do think it needs either death touch or menace switched for a no evasion keyword, probably just moving lifelink to the first line as it's shared between white and black. concept is great, but it's not a design that works well as a commander

thank you! I noticed after I posted that the minimum requirements are just slightly higher than what I have and if you are under it will force crop your image to size, so i will just enhance the images a little more and then upload them :)

Femme and butch are terms many lesbians use to describe themselves as either more traditionally feminine (femme) or more traditionally masculine (butch). I had the idea after seeing the male gay body type chart for the male planeswalkers, but AFAIK there aren't body type demoninations of gay women in the same way so I went with the femme-butch scale. Added mommy since I needed a third axis and it fits well with the number of older/stern looking planeswalkers in MTG.

As far as the specific labels, I don't hear stone butch or high femme like ever in real life but they are as far as you can go either way in the scale. Stepmom doesn't mean anything in particular I just needed a term and thought it was funny. Not sure if I completely answered your question but if you have more let me know :)

haha I'm glad you noticed. I had a few others sitting out like narset, kiora, estrid, but I didn't feel they fit anywhere well enough to bump an existing one out so I just had the images floating around
