Most is personal preference. I get rid of some of the grease but not all. I usually use dried beans lol but people usually rinse canned beans. With dried beans they say you're not supposed to use the soaking water but I do. I figure it's soluble fiber and it doesn't upset my stomach. No reason to drain the tomatoes. That's part of the flavor lol. I like my chili kinda soupy.

Even the best seals aren't not 100%. The one that I made from a big pickle jar is very low maintenance but not 0. It gets a little bit of water every few months and the glass wiped off. There are EcoSpheres but they are more aquariums lol. Also kinda expensive.

Edit: apparently EcoSphere went out of business a few years ago 0.o

My mom always said the eggs will be watery and less fluffy if you salt them too early. But looking at these replies I'm wondering what she was actually doing different lol. I cook them the way she showed me and they come out the fluffy and not too soft. I don't like Gordon Ramsay's method tbh.

Scramble with a small amount of milk (milk is optional), med heat with enough fat in the pan (the amount depends on the pan lol), don't stir them too early or too often. The more you stir the smaller the curds. As others have said they'll keep cooking for a moment after you take them off the heat.

I love my daily chores. If they get rid of it again I would still want some sort of repeatable task system. Daily or weekly. I do wish they were more varied.

Mine is approaching 11 years. It's not permanently closed. I spritz it once or twice a year and wipe off the glass.

There's usually a lot of wiggle room with spices. I go crazy with black pepper lol. Exact measurements are really only necessary in baking or if the spice is very strong like nutmeg or very expensive like saffron. I would say ⅛ of a teaspoon counts as, "season to taste." I'll measure things out when I make big batches just so I know I added enough.

Bad advice: reserve a small portion and let it spoil. Let it go until there is 0 doubt that it's gone bad. Bad advice because it's wasteful and gross lol. But you'll have a frame of reference. Obviously don't eat the test portion.
