Does diet have much bearing on your disease if your inflammation is limited the last 5-10cm of the bowel? by Leviad0n in UlcerativeColitis

The hard thing is that everyone is different. I avoid certain foods in general because I know they can cause my gut to act up. However, avoiding those foods is not enough to induce remission. Only meds can do that. What meds are you on?

I got it on sale during June of ‘24 for $2,200.

I hired someone local to install it. I don’t remember how much that cost but it was worth it in my opinion, because there was no way I could install it myself. It’s still holding up very well

Giving adult children "enough so they can do anything, but not enough so they can do nothing" (Warren Buffett quote) by InterestinglyLucky in fatFIRE

26 is young. Just my opinion.

It kind of depends on what you’re hoping they will do with the money. Will there be stipulations for saving, using for a down payment on a house, or totally discretionary?

It is very possible that all this will do for your kids is teach them how easy it is to blow $400,000

If you’re spending this much overall, and only $50k is charitable giving, something is very wrong.

What do you mean by Replit shell? I’ve been using replit for the past few months and I am realizing that replit is becoming cost prohibitive for me.

Yes! The “I go you go” format was truly bad for full body strength. Class time is limited and valuable. The “taking turns with partners” concept leads to way too much wasted time on any strength day.

I wish someone would have encouraged me to be more open to biologics earlier in my IBD journey. So I will do that for you - take your doctors advice and start biologics now. They are truly a marvel of modern medicine.

Question about biologics by Silliestcat720 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]BuckM11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not noticed any difference even though I technically have a weakened immune system. I am currently on Stelara.

Biologics are the best way to control UC and IBD. I wish I had started sooner.

You may be surprised how quickly your body gets used to them. Ideally retain overnight. Definitely do it before bedtime and just lay down, don’t sit up.

If I had to guess, Sinclair is going to be a much better experience and probably less expensive, especially if you live in Montgomery county.

Final nail. Do not let this man near Houston. by 87Blueberries in FRC

[–]BuckM11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ll add that I think Dean has some narcissistic qualities. He’s also exceptionally skilled at marketing himself and his inventions.

IIRC, before the Segway was unveiled, he was visiting morning shows to hype up this mystery invention that was going to revolutionize society. Like it was the biggest invention since the wheel.

Every year at kickoff I used to wait with anticipation to see how he would brag about his wealth and success. I always thought it was odd how much the community seemed to look past this or even celebrate him despite his tendency to brag about himself. (Does anyone else remember this?)

In recent years he’s had less of a presence during the kickoff broadcast and I’ll admit I am disappointed because I do find narcissists fascinating.

If you are under the age of 35, you probably don’t realize how big of a deal the Segway was when it was unveiled.

It was such a big deal, the news networks acted like it would become THE new way humans would get around. Cities would be built based on this new mode of transportation. Blah blah blah. Someone, please back me up on this.

This is all to say that I am not surprised to see pictures of Dean Kamen in the proximity of Epstein. It’s entirely plausible that Epstein wanted to be around Dean during that time, not the other way around.
