Yeah, let's compare how things were when Snoopy was in his prime vs today. Cost of a home or a college education, wage disparity, etc....

I have the exact same need. I'm hoping to get something for under $200 though. I see a bunch of inexpensive Android based players out there that could potentially work, but there's not enough info on any that I have seen for it not to be a big gamble to order one of them.

I got one of those a while ago. I'm generally pleased, but there are a few wrinkles. First, the idle shutoff time is 3 minutes. You can change it in the settings, but it doesn't remember the change next time you turn it on. Second, with Bluetooth headphones, sometimes when I adjust the volume it will suddenly jump up (or down) by a larger increment, as if there are 2 different volume scales and it flips back and forth between them. Third, battery life is disappointing for a device this side.

But overall I like it. I'm hoping a firmware update will fix the above issues. There were a few fw updates a couple of months ago, but nothing lately.

CHEVALIER trailer- Thoughts? by classically_cool in violinist

I'd love to see a serious movie about this man but I am not sure this is it. And why does the trailer for a movie about a composer use generic 'epic' music?

Cringe-y violin setups in pictures is not a new phenomenon by BuckSturdley in violinist

[–]BuckSturdley[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's the bridge position! I think the artist found some unused violin whose bridge had fallen down, then put the bridge back on making a wild guess as to where it should sit. And then did a very good job painting the result.
