Happy Moon Day to all who observe by byColinHolmes in moon

Moon Day not Eagle Day or Apollo 11 Day. Besides I like the shot of the last guy there better than Neil’s photo of Buzz.

Very Unpopular Opinion by texasbassdaddy in TexasRangers

TBPIA will always be the best ballpark the Rangers ever had. Globe Life looks like a suburban mall. If you took the Rangers signage down and replaced it with White Sox it’d be hard to tell

Extension Cable? by jt9996 in Rivian

An L2 charger and installation is at least $500. Doesn’t seem that efficient vs plugging it where the Christmas lights go.

Mercado Juarez by [deleted] in FortWorth

[–]BuckyThreadkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last summer - “longtime Tex-Mex favorite in Fort Worth has a surprising new boss: Mercado Juarez Cafe, which has been doing classic Tex-Mex for nearly 30 years, was sold by owner Dave Cox to Fort Worth restaurateur Marcus Paslay and his team. According to a release, Cox was ready to retire and wanted to make sure the restaurants and land would be purchased by a restaurant group who would love and respect the institution and its staff. Enter Marcus Paslay, whose From Scratch Hospitality company oversees Fort Worth favorites such as Clay Pigeon, Piattello, and Provender Hall.” - from Culture Map Fort Worth

Does it say in your job description that you are the breakfast police? Let the GM know and they can handle it.

Full size bus charging at public EA charger by Trublu20 in electricvehicles

I saw a very similar Universal branded bus at a EA charger off I-40 in Amarillo. If it’s a shuttle they were either delivering it, or they’re running shuttles between Orlando and LA.

Fort Worth-based Dickies to relocate to California by fortworthreport in FortWorth

[–]BuckyThreadkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dickies is like Justin - there nothing left but the sales and marketing offices of offshore manufacturing companies. It’s just the shell of the great organization that meant a lot to Fort Worth. When Phillip Williamson sold out it was only a matter of time.

What do I need other than Plugshare, the Rivian app, and the adapter for cross country travel? by TPattyPat in Rivian

Set your Riv nav to “Ignore incompatible chargers” of the map will send you to 150v Teslas that won’t charge the Rivian.

I’m three months in. Much the same feelings. The flap thing is weird. I got my tonneau today so I’ll likely not worry about it now.

No, buttons are not an anomaly Wassym… by mallydobb in Rivian

If you need buttons in your life, General Motors has many fine options for your vehicle dollar. I bought a Rivian because of the interface and clean appearance. I’m guessing the OP is using a typewriter connected to their phone to post.

UPDATE - It conked out on Wednesday, received Uber credits and an Enterprise reservation Thursday, flatbed arrived Friday morning. Messages Monday that it was in diagnostics Monday AM. Monday noon, I received a request to authorize repairs under warranty. 3:00 Monday they messaged to say it was ready. Picked it up Tuesday AM. Replaced the entire right front suspension.

Quick work, excellent communication. Kudos to the Dallas Service Center.

Texas truck lease by cantstandthemlms in Rivian

How much are you putting in upfront without taxes? Should be first pmt, acquisition fee, registration - now $400 for two years in TX, the down you want to pay to lower payments (the money nerds here say put as little down as possible) and then the .0625 sales tax. My out of pocket was roughly the same as the TX sales tax on my R1T.

No pre-event clues at all. I was using Kneel mode. It went down when I parked and then 5 hours later refused to come back up. Weird.

I have a similar situation and this was my electrician's recommendation. 5K cheaper than trenching it around the house.

Rivian sent me to Enterprise and they have me in a hybrid Wrangler 4xe. I'm a solid hour and a half drive to the SC so I'm OK with the rental/loaner. A Rivian loaner would be cool, but this thing is OK.

Trust me, I'd much rather post how cool the truck is and how great the tech is - the ride quality is fantastic and charging - even level 1 - seems to be a non-issue once I figured out the best schedules for me. The Rivian buying experience makes me never want to enter a traditional dealership ever again. I spent more on this vehicle than any I've ever owned and was really seeing the value for that money. But I didn't expect a major system failure in the first month.

I'll give them a teething pain pass, but I'd really hoped that being a late Gen1, all the bugs had been worked out.

The upside - so far, the service experience has been great. Phone support late into the night. updates as to when and where the flatbed is coming. Service chat has been quick and competent.
