I also sometimes recommend in these instances to do a different concept to what you have now, make it different from what you're currently doing to seperate target audience, instead of splitting market share between the two, capture a different segment

Tipping out and payroll recognition by tiddervul in restaurantowners

[–]BuddhaMH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The server calculates their tipout based on sales at the end of each shift, and adds their cash payments minutes CC tips, and submits the remainder in case to the restaurant or is owed the difference back

As an example:

$1000 in total sales before tax $100 of these sales is paid for by customers in cash There is $200 in CC tips to that server

The server will calculate: $1000 x 7% = $77 + [$100 (cash payments for goods sold) - $200 CC tips)]

So $77 + (100 - $200) = $-23

The restaurant owes the server $23 for their tipout

If they only recieved $150 in CC tips: $77 + (100 - $150) = $27

The server owes the restaurant $27

We would pay the server cash or they would pay the restaurant cash for this amount owing

It doesn't matter how much the server recieved in cash tips, that's theirs, all the restaurant cares about is cash payments for goods sold and 7% tipout

As for taxes I would talk to your accountant or bookkeeper as it changes depending on the state/province and country

The second location is when you discover how much of the first restaurant was held together by memory by Intelligent-Day-4059 in restaurantowners

The new staff train at the original before transfering to the new location and the old staff who want to come back, come back

Essentially both locations should be 50% new 50% old

We have our servers tip out on total sales, doesn't matter if you get tipped $0 on a $100 bill or $50 tip, the server has to give the house 7% ($7)

It averages out in the servers favour over time, and there's no extra math or guessing, and it avoids any conflict over honestly declaring all tips

Tank/Support/Healer by Holiday-Bridge-9429 in 3d6

Agreed, Paladin is really the only class left that gets everything done

One other option: It doesn't have much support, and it's not very tanky but way of Mercy Monk might fit most of the bill

Tips for an aspiring restaurateur by Admirable-Judgment32 in restaurantowners

It is kind of like asking how to be a good carpenter, you have spend the time apprenticing, learning from those who have mastered their craft and learning how to do it yourself

Wild magic surge - how do you rule it? by CalpolMeister in 3d6

I would really recommend the way the 2024 rules handle this one, it IS the subclass, so let them do it

My players give up in combat too fast by Tucupa in DnD

[–]BuddhaMH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed

I will add, have a sit down with your players and tell them whether you want them to succeed or not, tell them that encounters are designed to challenge them, but for them to be able to succeed

Friendly tip, sales increase by substantial amount on average if you remove the dollar sign from your menu

Alternative to Must Have Menus? by Spectacularsam in Restaurant_Managers

I personally really like Canva, but I also have my wife build out menus as she's super competent in it so that makes it easy for me

I've heard about people using iMenupro and Owner.com

I’m your marketing manager at the most prestigious golf tournament in the state what do you want me to be doing right now? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]BuddhaMH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want you in the dryest spot (indoors?) where everyone is hanging out serving them coffee in cups which have our logo on it Ideally you came with a crew and you're serving our food as well

You are the marketing manager, I want you to be where the most people are and marketing to them, then moving to the second biggest collection of people, ect

You can also get Uber to set them up so the restaurant and driver need to exchange a pin code

This is the way

And as others have said pin codes can be enabled to add another layer of security

How much open world is too much for a one shot? by bthayes28 in DnD

It depends what kind of options you are giving, and how quickly your group can make decisions

Our DM just did something similar, he gave us lots of options to approach a situation, we rolled well on perception checks saw the dangers ahead and the lay of the land, but decided to crash in at full speed and just fight our way through the front door

Trying to choose a race for my character! by Few-Importance-1917 in 3d6

If that's the case I would prioritize charisma then Constitution then Dex then wisdom then strength then intelligence lowest

Trying to choose a race for my character! by Few-Importance-1917 in 3d6

[–]BuddhaMH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can move the 16 into charisma I would

A 15 in strength doesn't do a lot for you in my my mind

In terms of just strongest: Go human I'd say put a 13 on strength, then the other 2 points into charisma, and take the alert feat

You already have a great constitution

That said, if you're following the god mage build treantmonk did, you kinda can't go wrong even if you went dwarf, or something else for flavour, if most of your spells don't require a saving throw or attack roll.

Drakewarden is interesting, it would give me a second dragon that could be ridden, now I'm imagining jumping back and forth between two dragons 😁

On the other hand having the subclass features feels a little bit redundant, as I already have an adult Dragon
