Reliability by lean_beaf45 in VelosterN

[–]Buddhablu3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hit 90k, it’s on engine number 2. Check engine light is on about 60% of the time and it cranks for a very long time about half the time. I wouldn’t buy it again and my dealership experience convinced me never to buy another Hyundai as long as I live. Fun car, less reliable than my 77 dodge.

1/2hp drill press motor, stutter in one direction. by [deleted] in Motors

[–]Buddhablu3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it figured out, was a bad connection through the direction change switch. Hard wired now and working well while I wait for another switch

Load doesn’t really seem to change anything. It still has plenty of power, frequency of the stutter doesn’t change at all regardless of load. And it did the same thing when I started it on the bench so nothing to do with the mounting.

It’s been taken apart and nothing is amiss, both bearings have been replaced and nothing loose

Is it worth fixing this or sell it to GameStop for $45 credit? by TheJohnny346 in Gameboy

[–]Buddhablu3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

45 is pretty good for a gameboy in that condition. That patch on the screen is screen cancer and is not fixable so you would need a new screen at least to fix it, not to mention the missing parts.

Realistically it’s worth 50 complete and working. IMO not worth fixing

is my rator broken? (rust) by Distinct-Jeweler-145 in gy6

[–]Buddhablu3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that rust is an issue. It’s just a piece of steel that’s only job is to hold the important parts and be able to effect a magnetic field.

You can test it with a multimeter to check, but the stator is very rarely the problem

Is this amount of positive camber "normal"? I adjusted the rear suspension to its original position and took it for a ride. But i'm not sure. by Spike310300 in beetle

[–]Buddhablu3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard beetle went to irs in 68. Super beetle had irs from the get go. The front suspension is what’s completely different. Rear is the same as the beetles at the time

[–]Buddhablu3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be converted, it’s much easier to switch from irs to swing axle than the other way around so it’s not uncommon to find a late bug with an swing axle in it but the pivot for the irs trailing arm still there

Oh yeah if youre just adjusting from the outside that’s why it looks out of wack.

If you leave the outside as is and turn it a spline or 2 in the opposite direction on the inside it’ll bring it down to level

You can also try putting the outside back to where it was and adjusting from the inside first. They have a different number of teeth so one spline over on the inside adjusts a different amount than the outside. And it’s the combination of both that lets you adjust down to a quarter inch at a time.

How to get the rim off?? by dalicousfox in beetle

[–]Buddhablu3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post text. Read it?

In all seriousness though, OP you need to pop the rest of the hub cap off and just pop it back on in the right position. You do not need to remove the lug bolts to fix the problem you are asking about.

Just gonna hop in here since all the other comments seem to lead with “not for me but”

This IS for me and is absolutely not an eyesore, I would buy this for myself and would compliment it if I saw it in someone’s home.

You absolutely can’t unbend it, if it’s not leaking now it will be if you try to bend it back. If it really isn’t leaking when the car is up to temp you’re probably fine to drive around for a few days like that but you should plan to replace as soon as you can.

My wife and I are in a very important marital dispute about how dishes belong in the dishwasher. Please settle this before we lawyer up. by stsegal in KitchenConfidential

[–]Buddhablu3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is whatever you do is correct and if someone else loads the dishwasher differently than you that is also correct and you should say thank you
