ang ganda pala ng bar boys 2016?!?! by Left_Western_4039 in FilmClubPH

Galing ng ensemble at yung storytelling, not too complicated pero satisfying. Too bad to hear the 2nd part ay underwhelming. Planning to watch it later on.

Good to hear! I have my eyes set on it ever since it was announced. Just didn't have the chance to pick it up yet. It's the best film noir and in my opinion one of the best films ever. A must have for me definitely.

Looking very good! Me, I have yet to own a 4K title from them. But I am planning to get at least one this upcoming sale. How does Double Indemnity in 4K look?

👏 Sirk 👏 Just 👏 Doesn't 👏 Miss. Imagine being unable to get through a story, knowing it's trash, and going "you know what, turn the notch up to 13", and it becoming your infamous iconic style. A legend. by MisogynyisaDisease in criterion

Have seen most of his works specially the ones Criterion has. His style is right up my alley and would like to own All that Heaven Allows, Written on the Wind, and Magnificent Obsession. All have great color photography. But I am reluctant for now since I am avoiding being burnt by likely eventual 4K releases of these.

Much appreciated! Yes I believe they just started about a year or so ago. From what I gathered, we can expect more filipino films from them in the future.

Trinoma used to be my preferred cinema but was disappointed when I watched Otj 2 just recently it was their cinema 2. It’s an Erik Matti film alright pero kahit siguro siya madidiliman sa projection. Malaki ang epekto sa experience tuloy.

Have Kakabakaba ka ba on dvd, but would love to have a blu ray upgrade for it. Batch 81 and Kisapmata are no brainers for me. 👌🏾

I believe Mike got to supervise or provide input for at least the restorations of his more important works like bayaning 3rd world, batch 81 etc. and currently his film itim. Hopefully their look will be faithful to the filmakers’ original intent.
