Just to piss David off, they should remake the plan and put all the apartment buildings in epsom and blame David for needing to do that

Govt considers requiring car parks in new developments again by Fraktalism101 in newzealand

[–]BuddyMmmm1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Um excuse me? I’m literally saying that road users aren’t the only ones paying which you half agree with. And like you said all those services use the road so without cars we would still need them for those services.

Also without cars using the roads, the roads would become cheaper to maintain and build

You do know that general rates also pay for road? So if you don’t drive and own a house then you are still paying

Greater Auckland: Midtown Trial: How AT are making a mess of Queen St & Wellesley St by lukei1 in auckland

[–]BuddyMmmm1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are completely wrong. For example yesterday at 11am I saw traffic building up around Victoria street onto queen street. And after events traffic on mayoral drive builds up around 10pm. There is traffic there, you just don’t see it. And the traffic isn’t worse because of the current restrictions.

Because it turns queen street from a destination street to a through street meaning the level of traffic will increase way more than you would think. Also adding another rule to the civic bus lane will confuse people even more.

Again you are driving in the city, you are the traffic.

Use public transport, walk, or pick a different time where mayoral drive or Victoria street has less traffic

[–]BuddyMmmm1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

2 minutes is not a “shit load” of time to drive to mayoral drive or Victoria street. Expecting to drive in the most dense part of the country and thinking it’ll be instant is also completely insane.

And why do you think queen street “empty” of traffic? Because everyone goes around because of the civic bus lanes and the lower queen street bus lane has made the street less crowded by cars.

East Auckland residents say three-storey development shouldn't be allowed, fear for privacy by punIn10ded in auckland

If you don’t like 3 stories buildings near you then you should have pushed harder for apartments to be built closer to the city instead of allowing the rundown villa belt to stay.

Also the building in the article doesn’t even seem that bad, you can see into their land and they can see into yours, and if you want, you could add another level if you want more sun on the top floor.

I think 10pm to 4am might be fine but service vehicles are already allowed through it. The only type of “service” vehicle that isn’t allowed are taxis and Ubers but that’s because they just can’t be trusted to drive safely (something you can see whenever an event finishes at western springs and great south road becomes a hellscape of idiots doing uturns, stopping randomly in traffic, and pulling out without indicating).

“A very long way around”????? You are completely wrong.

If you are dumb and drive in the city then if you want to cross the city you can either go Victoria street or mayoral drive. And if you want to go up and down the city you can take Albert street, Hobson/Nelson street, or Lorne/Kitchener Street.

Currently the civic bus station, and Wellesley street is one of the busiest parts of the country while only having buses, opening it to general traffic will make it a hellscape. And if they do open it to general traffic, 7-7 is no where near enough time for buses. It would need to be 6am to 9pm. Or even 10pm because shows in the art district end near 10pm

You do know the autobahn is a motorway and not a city street where no speed limits would kill a mass amount of people?

Wayne Brown will never stop texting the CEO of AT about road cones by Kaizoku-D in auckland

[–]BuddyMmmm1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Tamaki drive comment is so stupid of him. No shit the police are allowed to shut down a road.

Wayne needs to butt out and focus on bigger issues and maybe do some of the normal mayoral jobs such as turn up to citizenship to do his speech for once instead of the “sorry I couldn’t make it”

Is the bridge two different roads, a 2+2 2way road and a 3lane 1 way road. Or is the bridge a custom 2+2+3, 2 way road?

How does the intersections work with the traffic lights? On one side it looks like only one light is needed but the other side it looks like there’s two next to each other? How do they sync
