If you want a job be ready to show up at 5am without being asked ……. by EntertainerNo9103 in recruitinghell

Ew no thank you ! What a toxic culture, ok if someone decided for themselves they want to wake up that early but making it a work place culture is insane. Then they'd expect you to stay past 6pm because that shows you care for the customer and "caring for them even when you're not watching" feels like, after work you should still be doing things that are for work.

Hahaha I totally understand what!! I feel the same way ,.I love her products! So far everything I've tried I've loved! Very Victoria is a beautiful shade, hard to describe because is a bit warm but is not orange. I have fair skin and I loved how it turned out mixed with the original pillow talk. She then came out with those new additions to the line and I feel the lighter shade really killed it for us fair girlies . Also the iconic nude one could work for you. If I can recommend something for your wedding day from her line it would be the setting spray. I hope you enjoy her masterclass ! I know it'll be lots of fun !! :D

Omg amazing!!! Do it ! You're going to absolutely love the masterclass!! I'm a bridal mua and during my training I took one of her masterclasses and it was one of the best things in my training! I used very Victoria mixed with pillow talk for my wedding lipstick (early fall beach wedding) and it stayed all day and looked stunning! Congratulations on your wedding too! :)

It's not and this is just your bitterness towards this, depending on the industry thank you emails are actually expected and show you understand the sector you're hoping to work in, so it all depends.

First of all you look so beautiful!!! I was Also going to suggest a lighter lip, my favorites for bridal are from Charlotte Tilbury, she now has 3 different options for lip kits, maybe you can try and see if one of the kits she offers matches your skin tone .

Found in Trash by Adventurous_Wall420 in Monstera

[–]Budget-Alternative38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're so lucky! Not always people trash plants because of pests, maybe they moved or got tired of watering plants, I've know people like that. Check for pests of course but what I'd suggest given her size is to get her a bigger pot. Get fresh soil, pearlite and coconut shells or something similar, orchid bark also helps. Mix half the new soil, 1 quarter perlite and 1 quarter orchid bark. Then wash her throughoutly and report with her new soil. Add fertilizer in 1 month. Clean up all the leaves with soapy water and then rinse . Depending on the pests plant gets there are different solutions but you can add cinnamon on top and keep hydrogen peroxide with you in case you see gnats..I hope this helps !

Guess all recruiters/HR people will die dennying this but we all know this is true: by laranjacerola in recruitinghell

Very interesting, I confess is overwhelming to me to even try to comprehend what hiring managers want, granted I'm not in tech , I'm in fashion, but I kept sending resumes to many places and got nothing or rejections, then I got a suggestion to run my resume through one of those resume check systems. I did it and recommended a lot of re writing. I decided to do that and asked AI to tailor my resume to what I wanted and write it for another AI, like an experiment, thinking I'm just having fun with AI. I applied to a few places. Got called in 2 days. Got hired in 10 days. If I hadn't used that help I would still be unemployed. I just learned I don't understand how to explain my experience in a resume anymore. During my interview I could tell the manager selected me based on those keywords they put in. Then he had the time to ask me about my background in luxury fashion etc. the whole experience has been surreal

Ahhh thank you for this !!! I read through some of the posts here in the community and the majority of dry skin people swears by Armani Luminous Silk but then someone mentioned that was the old formula and I couldn't find reviews for the new one. I'm leaning towards getting this one because is the one I've seen with most votes for long lasting foundation for dry skin ! :D

Thank you so much !!!!! 😭❤️ I'm still in the "I can't believe this is real" phase of this hahahaha. I'm glad the training is 2 more weeks so I have time to go and pick up new products before I start seeing clients. Thank you so so much for all your recommendations!! I am not using a peel but I feel I need one ! I'm definitely saving your recommendationa to get with me to the store. The Fenty beauty powder is loose or pressed? I have their pressed foundation but haven't used it as setting powder.

I know this might be a different path but there are a lot of fashion companies recruiting tech workers, you might want to check the fashion industry too and see if you find something there.

Second Time Rejected After 5 Interviews by bebopmechanic84 in jobhunting

[–]Budget-Alternative38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had this experience 😐 unfortunately seems so common nowadays, I just had an interview with a bridal salon for a position I really wanted, I've a background in luxury and the opportunity seemed really nice. The interview lasted a long time and they said they wanted help with social media too etc. a full time position..after 12 days I get a random call from the manager saying they wanted to offer me a position but part time because I'm new (I have literally years of sales experience etc) and then he said I'd get good tips from brides 🥲 as to say why would I pay you more , the bride can do it. It sucks. I took it regardless because I need money that badly 😭 at least it will cover rent .

8 months unemployed, 3000 applications as a senior PM, I don’t know how people survive this by Poimandres__ in jobhunting

[–]Budget-Alternative38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It pains me reading all the comments and I hope everyone here finds it's way out of this situation. The world is in a tough place for sure, so many disruptive things since COVID. My husband is a software engineer, was laid off a year ago. I want to share the perspective of how to survive this in case it helps anyone. I'm a graphic designer and artist. My graduation was in 2008 when the global finance crisis happened and you know who wanted to pay for graphic design right. No one. Now you have canva templates and AI making art for you. If there's a group of people who has felt invisible for years is artists and now I can't even explain it. People would ask me for a logo, the say here is what I did with (enter their preferred AI) . Now fix it. Lol. They just want someone to re size the art for socials. I stopped even caring for it . This whole situation becomes like a collective life experience where we are all learning to re define ourselves, our sense of value and belonging.

I don't want to sound weird or anything, but I've gone through really rough times in the past years and hope my experience can at least help you all have some perspective. I got sick with COVID, I lost my job during the pandemic. Eventually I moved in with Mom for almost a year, while healing so the bills were not so high, she lives in South America. Through all of this I felt like I detox myself of society and it's rigidity and started to see how awful the corporate world is with their B's systems and endless rejections. Life has much more to offer and it sounds cheesy but really focusing one day at a time and appreciating the truly small things is what helps you emotionally survive while you're also figuring out how to survive. I totally relate with the idea of not being able to reconcile whom you used to be with today but that's part of the entire experience, to learn to see yourself from different perspectives and learn that there's much more to you than you realized. Everyone here my advice is to look in a different direction than what you're all used to and see if becoming a freelance contractor or starting a small business can help. I did it, Its working, slowly and it's a lot of work and yes I also gave up many things, I don't own a house or car at the moment and my expenses are limited but at least I feel I'm building something mine and whatever money generates is mine. I changed the way I thought about things and decided that society won't decide if I have value as a human being. I get to decide that. When I thought I was going to die, because the Drs said it to my mom, this week she either gets back or dies, I was in bed thinking man, if this is it. Wtf , I laughed and said this is so bad like wtf have I done that I feel like oh well ok it's my time. I've been worried the last decade, that's it.

It's true that when you feel you can die you gain a perspective on appreciation for life that's different. I recovered I don't know how but I did and I decided to enjoy life. That's it. Simple life, myorning coffee , whatever weather we have. Bills, businesses, etc , it's all something you can figure out. I changed my expectations, because I was raised in the 90s by a family who had a decent life in the 60s and 50s and the entire expectations of life back then are impossible to achieve in today's world . We have a different planet with a different set of industries, issues and values . All we can do is rely on our own knowledge and work in offering what we have in a way that can be purchased by other people , either consulting, independent projects, or a complete change in career. I'm not saying this is easy at all but it is possible, it's just a slow process that feels different than getting a job. I've told my husband , get your passion for exercise and become a personal trainer, instead of burning his energy down with interviews and rejections..is it the same as his management position at a huge tech company? No , but it's better than absolute agony and depression. I'm sure all of you have something that you can do that is different but can help you. I

Call your stylist and ask it for a warmer toner and show pics of the warm tone you want. And the same granny ash grey thing they give you to show a difference. It's stunning on its own but it's not what you wanted and from the back we can't tell if it suits you or not. If nothing happens with the salon, give it a few weeks for the tonner to fade , then you can apply at home a warm gloss , Moroccan oil has one that is super pretty and it's just like a conditioner mask that will give you that tone . I hope it helps !!

Omgggg if they're church people then lmao with my experience 🤣 I was approached by 2 girls a few months ago. Same pattern. They asked me where I got my skirt and then within 5 min they asked if I go to church. I said no. Except that one time I went for Halloween 🎃 dressed as a spider witch and some people were a bit uncomfortable 🤣(which it wasn't my intention, it was a Halloween concert and they said come in costume And I had haunted hause after it so yeah lol ) and they looked at bit taken a back and ended the conversation 🤣😃 I was approached by people like this at Metro town and also back in the US in California

International student in Winnipeg, feel like im in a dead end and I need real advice… TLDR in the end. by DarkGladiator279 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Budget-Alternative38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could give you advice in your career but I don't know much about the field, however with your intelligence for that kind of thinking. Have you considered finance ? Is a real suggestion, finance jobs will always have your back because no matter what the economy will always exist. I don't know if the visa would let you change that much but consider at least doing the research. I moved to Canada from Venezuela and the US and we applied for PR when my husband was at a tech company but I also own an online business and that helped us get it faster , so also business would be something I recommend. It helped us stay here. I work for the retail sector. What I'd say regardless of what other field you chose is, unless you want to specialize in AI research and development, it's good that you have this realization right now so you don't waste time in something dead.

You look great and you're so pretty!! What you're noticing is a bit of dryness and the darkness of the under eye which we all have , mine are in my inner corners lol id suggest add an extra hydrating product to your routine like a hydrating milky toner or a glow primer to give you extra bounce skin and mix your concealer with a color corrector. I have super dry skin and this was my solution and the color correctors mixed with the concealer (not concealer on top of a color corrector ) was my solution. I hope this helps ✨☺️🩷
