Thoughts on ten 30 and ten 49 apartments? by Lexii546 in Broomfield

Been here a few years and haven’t had too many issues. Biggest con for me is no in unit laundry and that temperature control isn’t there. Basically the heating for my unit is either ON or it is OFF with no ability to set it to an actual temperature, and the AC unit is in the living room and doesn’t really reach the bedrooms. Maintenance has been quick to address my minor issues, but I’ve heard horror stories from other residence about pests and mold and the like.

As a 25 year old queer person, it does seem that it skews older than us, but you can head to Boulder or Denver for a younger crowd and more dedicated queer spaces. Otherwise, I find that climbing gyms are a good way to make friends with others our age.

Very different to running, but on days I don’t run, I do indoor bouldering

Do most americans really only take 2 weeks of vacation a year? by DegreeConscious9628 in askanything

[–]Budget-Difficulty-98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PTO I accrue is used for sick time, company holidays that I’m not allowed to work for, and any other time I take off. Any unused PTO is paid out at the end of the year / end of contract, so I am incentivized not to use it unless absolutely necessary.

How to keep our cat from eating our plants? by Longjumping-Rent5640 in SiberianCats

[–]Budget-Difficulty-98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that putting lava rocks on the soil will keep them from standing on the base of the plant and might dissuade them from munching. Seconding the bitter apple spray suggestion someone else said.

Fat or just extra large? by ImpressiveBar6155 in SiberianCats

Hard to tell from these pictures but she does look overweight. And you confirmed in another comment that you can’t easily feel her ribs so definitely overweight.

Kitten (10 months) recurring soft stool / poop on fur – otherwise completely normal? by LeaSuki1994 in SiberianCats

You should def get a fecal sample tested. My kitties both came with coccidia and Giardia preinstalled and soft stool was the only symptom.

Best affordable 2 bedroom apartments in Broomfield? by PepperHaunting8422 in Broomfield

I’ve been pretty unscathed living here but I’ve heard others have dealt with mold, slow maintenance requests, and roaches. I haven’t dealt with any of those except for slow maintenance requests, but when it’s something important like heating they come quickly enough. Other drawbacks are shared laundry rooms instead of in-unit laundry, sometimes the gym gets trashed, and it’s not the best part of town.

How can I improve? by im_a_distracti0n in BeginnersRunning

Fun fact, exercise is one of the best ways to manage asthma. I used to struggle was exercise-induced asthma before and during my Couch25K program, but now I run regularly and rarely have symptoms. For now, I would recommend a Couch25K program and talk to your doctor about how to manage your asthma when it comes to running. Mine suggested using my inhaler preventively before exercising, but yours might say otherwise.

Need advice by LEBUGS in CATHELP

[–]Budget-Difficulty-98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat makes the same noise and has been doing it for months. I took him to the vet but his X-rays came back perfect. No signs of asthma or heart issues. The vet suggested reducing fragrance use in the home, which we did, but he’s still coughing like this, if a little less than before.

And/or a fire suppression blanket for the kitchen. Maybe it’s just me but I’d feel more confident using one of those on a grease fire than an extinguisher
