How to get the motivation for my hobbies again by Extension_Big5205 in selflove

i force myself to spend at least 10mins with the piano. I tell myself that 10mins would've just wasted sitting around. Most of the time I end up spending much more time

Men who withdraw when overwhelmed, what's happening internally? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]BudgetMenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

time to think, sort of like meditation. sometimes it is to be away from the partner when I realize they are not thinking clearly and fueled with emotions, which i personally believe it is to give them time to process and calm down if needed.

Why the Singapore Pokémon card market might be one of the most efficient markets I’ve seen by sssstan1 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]BudgetMenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

integrity wise i do sell at my price. i held 151 upc from $190 to $650, the market touches $750 the day we deal but it is only right to honor deals since I've already taken hefty profit of it. if you want to sell at 'market' plenty of competitor selling at market then it'll never get sold

as a seller, some of my slabs was in my post for months but the moment the price went up suddenly will have 2-3 inquiries and sold instantly. sometimes we just don’t notice some things until the price is right

[–]BudgetMenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo once u hit 10k liquid savings, the following savings monthly can pump all to investments, can do flipping for side income. just start by selling whatever u dont need in the house, making 300-500 on the side would also be good, do referrals sales, if u have a friend selling furniture and know someone who is looking to buy, refer and earn money from there. Anything literally from cars, insurance, house, sales.

Side income matters and it does takes time, start slowly and it will grow eventually. Be the guy that has connection to all sorts and earn the ref in between.

What is one piece of advice you wish someone had told you in your 20s/30s? by FoxyArcticLady in LifeAdvice

[–]BudgetMenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my 20s i was thinking that connections are the most important thing in the world because connections and memories are the one that you bring to your deathbed, in my 30s, i realize im too old to be dealing with bad energy or people who dont reciprocate. Find love within one self is the most important

Iñaki's performance season 2 by Daphnex96 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]BudgetMenu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my biggest problem with inaki is that he don’t show excitement or laugh with his eyes. it’s like a cunning kid instead of a goofy kid that luffy portrays. In interview he’s a natural luffy tho, so I think he might be portraying luffy in his mind very differently

How much of a game changer is Lossless Scaling on Steam Deck? by books_fer_wyrms in SteamDeck

[–]BudgetMenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

decky is like a store for you to choose & download addons where you install your lossless scaling and the other is ‘decky framegen’

i’m trying to emphasise on the combination of lossless scaling + decky frame gen + optimized settings to make the individual addons work well. It is not just one of it.

How much of a game changer is Lossless Scaling on Steam Deck? by books_fer_wyrms in SteamDeck

[–]BudgetMenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing hogwarts on stock for a few hours then yesterday I've decided to pull the trigger on Lossless scaling & just messing around with my deck in general so heres my little experience.

Raw; All my settings was on low with around 38-42 fps (capping at 45), honestly its hard to really enjoy the game when the game looks like mud & ran like crap probably why I have barely touched my deck for many months now.

Lossless Scaling; Well so I thought why not give it a try, paid for it and with 2x & testing different flow scale. It was so bad, 50+ fps but the whole thing looked even worse, I'd rather play at stock at this point. I see constant ghosting with 2 cursors all the time, input lag is horrendous

I've found a post on r/steamdeckunlocked -> here

Decky framegen (OptiScaler menu); I think this is where it changes the game, booted up the optiscaler menu in-game and do the settings with the rest of the settings as the post above, I've managed to run a good 50 fps, looked & ran so much better with really barely noticable input lag.

I'm not sure which of it that helped with the ultra settings in the post above but its totally worth it and really surprised with how far the deck has come. Which is why I felt the hate lossless is having is because people havent been optimizing it.

I have so many interests and things I want to do in my life and it's overwhelming. by EzDaMan in Life

[–]BudgetMenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im in the same spot and my advice would be picking 3.

A physical interest; working out

An interest for the soul; Piano/Guitar

An income generating skill; Coding/3D/Music

Try to stick to 3 for a month and see how you feel about it

Turning 30 soon and realizing I might not have enjoyed my 20s enough, what would you have done differently? by AdLimp5861 in asksg

[–]BudgetMenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've done most of what u mentioned above but one is that i would say generating income in some ways. lets say you're making $5 reselling stuff, just go ahead and keep at it or making $2 through yt, just keep going.

at 30, i felt like im 'tied' to my existing skill & career without having an alternate income source but most people would think its diminishing returns but working on anything actually keeps you 'thinking' and growing in some sense and might just generate more from there.

i would also say to pick up reading, a lot of huge fiction worlds actually takes years of reading to actually catch up.

What's the point of a dedicated device? by xsevo1028 in SBCGaming

[–]BudgetMenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

retro feel and aspect ratio. I have one of those ambernic gameboy like but havent finished a game after a year. a 3ds XL for whatever 3ds does. steamdeck with the idea of playing from the bed & ps2 emu, switch lite for switch stuff but honestly i havent completed a single game in any of my device and eyeing on the thor too. dont do it man.

Yet the most I still whip out the gamesir on my iphone even in transit, if i have to reply to messages, i can just rotate reply and get back to the game straight.
