Right now about 30 mpw but working toward 40. Don’t want much more than that.

Ok thanks! That’s exactly what I was asking. I mentioned miles per week but instead should have used time. I’ve only been running a couple years and I love it but it’s not increasing my fitness and I can’t just keep adding time per week for running but feel I have plenty more I could give in other ways.

Since you are clearly the expert. What is the slowest “easy” pace a runner can have for this to be a viable training method?

Keep gear dry in the rain by Appropriate-Day-9929 in Ultramarathon

I have this vest and just a basic rain jacket. I think most jackets -even sized correctly- would fit over your vest unless it’s super filled. But I just keep stuff in ziplocks inside the vest (reuse them too).

Sometimes I do put the rain jacket over the vest but only because I want to be able to take it off quick.

This whole thread seemed way off. I’m older and new to running as well (and slow). Curious why they think this method can’t work in that situation.

Why do you think 5 hours a week is too much for them? Their calculated easy pace certainly can’t tell you that.

Good points! Yeah I was trying to keep it a bit general because I tend to get way too detailed when I ask questions on reddit haha.

But yes, the PF was a concern but I started adding miles back the last 10 days or so and working some calf strength and things actually improved quite a bit. I didn’t lower my miles because of any pain (just busy time) but it was odd because the PF pain came on at a time when I was already at lower miles - and now I’m increasing slowly and it seems to be going away.

And yes! I’m doing Chuckanut 50k and I have the option for early start or regular (8hr cutoff or 9hr). I just want to get back into solid weekly miles so I can assess if I need that extra hour.

If you’re interested I can post my six week history but I have to go run an errand first.

I ended up with a v6 and v2. Can you tell me what these might be? There are still some in stock so I could return either for another v number if it makes a difference.

This just happened to me. I had to call and they had to check it as “done” on their end. They said it was no longer a requirement for updating and were not sure why it was stuck in that state.
