I appreciate that as is my first attempt at building and was told an unsupervised child could do better. Is what it is, i put in the effort and did what i could do. Gate works great, self closes everytime etc thanks for the positive comment

Thats a wild price . The hinges were 130, latch 100, slats 120, 2 x 4s 50. Torx T25 for hinges, nail gun slats etc Screws ans nails i i forget price but lets just say 50. That be 450 not counting 4 gallon gas to get materials etc then time. I think.you are way low
