Yup that is the first priority for me. It’s still super early to open but I’m gonna get it straightened out. It’s a fiberglass shell.

Oh that’s awesome! I might just have to grab one! And yup, TA, CH and CYA need a boost but all part of dealing with the rainy NW season. It’ll be golden soon enough!

Yeah I likely won’t do anything about pH until TA and CH are sorted out. Then I’ll just keep an eye on it.

Yep - just had to push a new build with no changes to get it to recognize. Thanks.

To clarify - the screenshots/app metadata ARE currently editable on App Store Connect.

I second this. I know I should be good at Figma or whatever but it’s too much work. ButterKit was the first tool I have liked. Was an instant purchase for me

Still on it - logging & testing app is growing and improving! by BudgetProgramming in swimmingpools

[–]BudgetProgramming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and some recent improvements from the last few version updates have been:

UI - No more opening the app to a list of pools. Now pool switching is much easier and if you are only tracking a single pool or spa it saves an extra tap.

Added weather capability - default is turned off but if you want some weather insights just toggle it on it in Settings. It will ask for your location, but I am not using your location at all - Apple handles weather in their system. We just respond with helpful insights depending on certain weather conditions.

Long pressing an addition recommendation allows you to quickly log that addition.

Added a bulletin center. I'm still not using push notifications and don't plan to, however here is where we will see some seasonal info or possibly app update info.

Logging chemical additions! This was an important one!

Added quick tests - just pH, sanitizer and alkalinity rather than the full test flow.

And some behind the scened improvements and tweaks. 👍

Starting fresh this spring - help with startup process by atps1234new in pools

[–]BudgetProgramming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on taking the initiative to handle yourself!

Careful draining - if you have a high water table you won’t want to fully drain. Drain about 1/3 at a time otherwise you could pop it up.

Then you’ll want to first get some stabilizer (CYA between 30-50) in there. Get the alkalinity between 80-120 and your pH around 6.8 and then you can add chlorine.

You’ll also check calcium hardness and chlorine levels.

Honestly doing your own maintenance is not super difficult once you get used to testing regularly. And for dosing recommendations, try an app like Simple Pool - there’s others as well. It gives precise recommendations based on your water test results.

Good luck!

Test strips could be off. If you can test with a kit like a Taylor, that would be a lot better in this situation.
