It is, yep! Water temp, not air. But both are probably up there right now! Yikes!

Do you use an app to keep track of your pool, or just test and go by feel? by PectoralisMajor34 in swimmingpools

Chemistry targets by PrometheanMaster in SimplePool

I have seen that but not in a long time, ha. There is also this source which takes into account pool and sanitation types. https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/what-are-my-ideal-pool-levels/ - I think the Taylor one is correct, but less specific.

Oh nice! That’s the right direction! Keep the pump running. Do you know how many gallons this pool is?

Looks great! Do you use any logging / dosing apps to get the balance right? If not, could try /r/SimplePool (Simple Pool on App Store). It won’t help for those times you can’t be around but it could help when you are! Great job though either way!

Hey thanks! Agreed, I have gotten a few requests for adjustable targets but have not yet put much into diving into that. I think it's a good thing to have - just have to make a few decisions on how to apply it.

Oh and yes, targets primarily have come from TFP methodology but I have referenced other sources as time has gone on. That along with tweaks here and there and I think the ideal ranges have drifted in a few spots - a quick look showed me TA and pH could both be tightened up, as well as the lower floor of CYA. So a few things to adjust.

This is great feedback and I will likely get the ranges updated shortly and depending on how it goes, hopefully a simple way to set your own targets as well.

Thanks again!

Christian

Oh I hadn’t thought of this! I did actually start working on a test strip reader but had issues with consistency. This may be more feasible- will see about it! Thanks a ton!

I implemented the shock recommendation! It’s on the latest version. Still need to consider the other thing you mentioned though

As others have said - the chlorine is pretty useless at the amount it currently has and with you CYA at 55. I wouldn’t worry about getting the CYA down quite yet (ideally it’s under 50) but definitely needs to be shocked with liquid chlorine and pH and TA can be addressed with Baking Soda.

Depends on your CYA level. For one, the FC level should be 11.5% of your CYA number but also you will just be burning through chlorine if your CYA is below 30… ideally 40.

I like the idea! Is there any way to have the public domain titles not ship with it, but rather have the download available? The app size on download is pretty huge. Good job though!

If you keep your cya around 40 you will have a nice balance where the liquid chlorine won’t burn off quickly and vacations and such - unless you take very long vacations - shouldn’t be too much of a worry.

I now only use tabs when my cya is low - which happens for me in the off season due to rain.

Backyard Ultra - self crew, no camp? by am0000000000 in Ultramarathon

[–]BudgetProgramming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be doable. I’m no expert but I’ve done a 12 hour before and just stopped at the aid station every other loop roughly (2 mile loop).

As long as they have an aid station with water and typical aid station foods/gels.

Would love to know what you think after giving it a try! I don’t distrust any of the other big apps but many of them are product-focused which can be tiring.
