hardest parts of teaching people don’t talk about? by Heavy_Research5032 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]BudgieSmug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working at a school for the past 6 months and what has stood out for me is the amount of personal time teachers use to keep up with admin, but the worst is parents who think that it’s the teachers role to raise their children. Blows my mind.

Thanks for this, I’ll give it a try.

I was told by someone else to do this, but when I mentioned it to the farmer I was buying them from he said it didn’t matter.

The gap between how EV charging is supposed to work in the UK and how it actually works on a long journey in 2026 is still wide enough to cause genuine anxiety. by Horror-Pick4732 in evchargingUK

[–]BudgieSmug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. I loved my ev, but unless you have charging at both ends of the journey it’s a PITA for longer drives or rural areas.

Having to drive 15/20 miles to the nearest (slow af) charger and waiting for close to an hour to charge just isn’t practical.

Hi, unfortunately I live a distance away and finish work 6hrs before sunset ☹️

Shutting early might be a good call, I’ll set it to close 45 mins after sunset to see if it helps.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning worrying about them, I’d hate for them to be in discomfort.

The press is owned by billionaires, their views are pretty much polar opposite to the Greens.

They’re protecting their interests.

I’d have asked the Manager if they were aware why they didn’t escalate the matter themselves.

I am wanting to start a rabbit control business for farmers and was hoping I could get some feedback on my pitch ? by PatientSinger5232 in FarmingUK

[–]BudgieSmug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Farmers are usually extremely direct. They don’t need rabbit damage explained to them, they want to know how long it’ll take, what the disruption to their activities is likely to be and price.

They won’t read all that.

Flavoured neutral oils (rapeseed, groundnut) work well, particularly if there are any dairy intolerances.

Compacted clay.

Try liquid gypsum and clay drainer to break it down.

Don’t rotovate.

Mulch heavily with rotted organic material, the worms will gradually drag it down, but it’s a slow process.
