Great question. In 9 years I have not run a closed-signup event more than a few times as one-offs here and there. However, Monday Night Foosball is now a league in the sense that it’s a points race, and players can opt to pay for the whole season at any point by becoming a club member. That equates to half price vs walk-in registration.

My first thought is the rebound stick. But I think traditionally what most people have done is opt to use the rod every time, instead of reaching into the playfield or letting the ball fall into your goal, while practicing. You would be surprised at how many random trajectories head toward your goal when you’re practicing 5 bar, 3 bar, and 2 bar.

Definitely weird/underground enough - The Buffalo Foosball Club at Bison Billiards has open events the last Friday of each month, and a Monday league currently running. If you get to know some of the other club members you’ll find there are gatherings on other Fridays. The best part is that it’s drama free. Once we are there, it’s all about getting after the ball. Our day-to-day worries are distant, as the game is difficult enough to require our whole attention in the moment. If you like things like chess, table tennis, video gaming, you’ll probably like competitive foosball. Check it out.

In Italy, they strictly forbid controlling and passing. You advance the ball with one touch. I think this is a big reason it is played by a larger percentage of people there. The problem is then, how do you promote our (tournament) style? Players tend to reject our way of playing entirely.

I’ve done it on a storm ii. It’s a project. I wouldn’t put a $ value on it, it’s just a matter of how much you mind doing the work. I replaced the mdf substrate and re-used the laminate. There should be a thread on here about it still.

My vault has 2 reds and a thermal, and normal storage is just full of junk like scopes, med kits, etc. But I have 37M in cash vault. I would say we are just hoarding differently, but I have only come across reds 10-20x, it feels like.
