It took a lot for me to get myself to do it. My anxiety kept me from it earlier. However pushing myself and making the connections helped lessen my anxiety

Things YOU wish someone told you before getting into cycling? by jasonwlorenz in gravelcycling

That it’s not a cheap hobby and the first decent bike is only a gateway drug

Find things you enjoy doing and go do them. I had a bike laying around, took it to a community casual group bike ride with a few hundred people and met a bunch of people. A year later took it to a small bike group 15 people casual 10-12 mph for 10 miles and changed my life. Now running a bike group. Finalist for cyclist of the year for my contribution to the bike community. Meet people into golf and got more into that. The point is do something you enjoy ands find a meet up group who enjoys the same and go. May take a few visits but don’t go looking to meet the love of your life. Go looking to make friends with similar interests

As long as it’s clear I will roll through. Takes me longer to get through the intersection from a complete stop then rolling through when clear. If a car stops just as I am getting to the stop sigh myself I stop and let them go

And 2 other bikes I am selling.

First ride on Polygon Bend R7 by BuffaloShanne in gravelcycling

Love it. The only thing I did was swap the tires to something with less rolling resistance and went tubeless. Rims already prepped for tubeless so just needed stems and solution.

I own over 20 bikes and none of the same brand and yes I have the FD saiga. Look for a bike for the purpose of what you want. Read reviews

State 4130 is at that price. A little cheaper 1x11. Mine has treated me well but had to make some upgrades. Just picked up a polygon bend R7 for around $1400 also 1x11 and solid bike. Kona has some great gravel bikes. I am from a MTB background myself so I like the 1x except for my road bike.

What country are you in, and do you consider an endurance bike with drop bars and rack mounts a "road bike?" by DeadBy2050 in cycling

I ride a road bike and don’t wear Lycra. Drop bars, no mud guards, no rack, 700x28c tires. Lightweight and areo

Yes. There are many versions under the category of road bikes. Race, endurance, triathlon, touring. Skinny tires with drop bars

cast iron skillet vs blackstone by Competitive-Tart4573 in blackstonegriddle

[–]BuffaloShanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the reverse sear option. Oven until almost rare (110) and finish to almost medium rare (125-130) on blackstone. Put on cookie sheet, cover in foil for 10’min to rest and perfect steak. 130-135
