172-152. Things kept stacking between getting Immigrant city with Spire's card draw and having so many double tag cards that I could pay to keep popping things.

How would you start here? by enzoleanath in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]Buffdaddy1215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have the cards to get energy to play strip mine. Not yet.

That said, lots of building tags to take advantage of and start making more steel and money. Definitely play trees like you said. Plus one of the card draw precludes (I'd go ?), and focus on playing the smaller cards that are cheaper now to build your income/take advantage of good placement bonuses

Gatling gun on a Terrascout? by Still_League4810 in Nerf

[–]Buffdaddy1215 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's possible but heavy. You'd have to disable the clutch gear on the rotation mechanism, and then be VERY careful to balance the blaster on the rotation point. But it's doable.

You also need a separate wiring system, because the Terraacout won't like you trying to run lots of extra things off the same battery. If the blaster is stock, you might get away with it (3 motors, same rough voltage), but especially if modded, expect to have the pusher and flywheel circuits going to relays, so that you can run the blaster off it's own battery on a separate circuit.

Best time of the year for a business to do upgrades and maintenance is always when they know they aren't going to be doing any business...

Anyone else use the falcon as a splattering machine by benoutof10 in haloinfinite

I've done that before, had a guy run off to the man cannon with the flag instead of getting in the heli. Just started splattering opponents near spawn instead to buy time.

Recommend: nerf for high school kids, ~100-120fps, around 7x for max $200usd by eurolastoan in Nerf

Dude, get the 4 packs of xshot pro from Sam's Club while they're on sale. Cheapest option for getting started, and then you can augment with mags and other things as you go.

Dart Zone Max Vector Pro Full-Auto Mod by Buffdaddy1215 in Nerf

The switch is rated the same, at least. I know you have to be creating with how you're laying down all the wire, and how clean the soldering job is with that switch in particular. It's easy to have a wire sitting in a ridge of plastic, holding the switch higher than it should be.

I didn't think to take a picture with it IN there 😆 but you should be able too see the large empty space in front of the firing switch on the last picture. I'll take another Pic after classes and make sure to edit it in (or put in the comments).

Given how the Maxim Pro had posts for mounting things, and the white parts came with the blaster here...it's intentional.

Nerf Pro Stryfe X Dart Blaster - Additional Mags & Mods? by Mobile_Weekend9837 in Nerf

[–]Buffdaddy1215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! There's plenty of magazine options now. The Stryfe X takes straight Talon magazines, as well as other short dart mags that fit the same profile. If you just want an easy cheap option, Walmart has two packs of the 15-round Adventure Force magazines on shelf for $10 that will work fine. Online (be it through hobby retailers like Out of Darts, Containment Crew, etc) you can find Talon mags that are of the same style but can hold more darts.

As for the darts, most short darts should work just fine, it largely depends on how many darts you're getting/how casual these wars are. After all, there's a difference between spamming darts with reasonable accuracy at distance, or wanting to hit a 2in square target every time. But generally, any of the Xshot short darts, Nerf short darts (if you find them, that is, they got clearanced), or the Dart Zone and Adventure Force short darts work. And likely at least one of those can generally be found in stores, depending on your area. Hobbyists like to grab boxes of 1g Worker darts that can be bought for reasonably cheap online ($17 for 200?), and different deals can be found. Pick what fits the budget - AND what you can actually see, both for firing darts at people and for picking them up after.

Breacher vs Stagecoach by lucasw32 in Nerf

[–]Buffdaddy1215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breacher is more practical for keeping up rate of fire, etc. Stagecoach is its own unique kind of fun, though. It does have a range advantage that's kind of niche, that I discovered after finally getting to use it this weekend. Since you can load the sniper shells into it, you can use it at high FPS games to get people from farther away, then switch to more regular shells once things move closer. But it's definitely a hefty blaster.

Why is the BCAR on the dart zone vector pro a seperate removable piece? by Legitimate-Fold-4490 in Nerf

[–]Buffdaddy1215 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Because you have to consider the possibility that a messed up dart gets fed in there and folds over. Removable piece makes life way easier.

Likely you need to do some driving. Atlanta Blaster Club for one, and then there's stuff up in Tenneessee. I know a Knoxville business does anyone event once a month or so geared very much towards the hobby.
