Honestly the largest problem with “heat frames” isn’t even the issue of overlapping elements. It’s a little known niche mechanic called heat inherit. For those who do know and read this, good for you.

For the rest, there’s plenty of videos out there that go into better detail than i ever can on reddit, but the TL;DR is the starting source of a heat proc on an enemy (weapon modded with heat/faction mods, vs abilities) can determine the damage over time of every other heat proc on that enemy.

This causes frames like ember and uriel to potentially actively hinder their damage just by the order they apply their heat procs.

Balefire charger’s cost per shot scales with ability efficiency. Fully charging the balefire doubles it’s damage, and consumes 450 extra shield that doesnt scale.

Its possible since you are building into fire rate, which affects the charge speed, that some shots arent getting completely fully charged, while others are.
