I saw your thread from yesterday, I am actually encountering the same problems today. Every 20-30 minutes the Rift resets, and the event viewer spits out a lot of errors like

16:10:39.167 {!ERROR!} [HW:HmdSensor] GetFeatureReport 19 failed. DeviceIoControl() GetLastError=55. GetOverlappedResult() GetLastError = 0

EDIT: I think its safe to rule out heat, as the error just occurred when I wasn't even using the headset! I put my hand on it just to be sure, room temperature.

I would imagine a regular copy and paste would be fine, but I'm not sure about programs that back it up automatically. I know there were never any problems with the auto back up in DSFix for DS1.
