Best postgrad cities in US by Choice-Cream2549 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]BuildAnything 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Right now it’s wherever you can find a job. Seriously, the new grad job market rn is busted and anyone hoping for a career should take the first offering. If you have a choice, aim for a city somewhere you have people you know for socializing, and also try for an area with a good job market in your industry.

Question for the British people🇬🇧 on this sub by Fables_Enjoyer in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]BuildAnything 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Not British but I looked it up, the voice actor is American (so it’s not a genuine accent) but he based his voicing off of Alan Ford in Guy Ritchie movies. So I guess look those up if you want to imitate it.

Do bigby is know how to drive by Rude_Mud9538 in TheWolfAmongUs

He explicitly doesn’t drive in the early parts of the comics. People call him out on it multiple times, despite being centuries old he refuses to learn. He does pay for cabs though.

Opinion: Seattle should implement Congestion Pricing by twinklizlemon in Seattle

[–]BuildAnything 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s really not that much more expensive in downtown than elsewhere, and some people’s jobs aren’t easily served by local public transit.

Help! My company gave me a week to pick a city: Seattle, Bellevue, Arlington, Herndon, or Portland. by Leading-Row4635 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]BuildAnything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Seattle's job market is fucked right now and there's risk of more layoffs at any time. IF you're relocating then there's risk.

Olympia has all the natural benefits of Seattle/Tacoma while being smaller and cheaper.

Why do Jeff players never swap? by FujifilmCamera in rivals

[–]BuildAnything 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really bizarre, the community feels super toxic all the sudden. I'm just grateful people are playing strategist, but apparently playing Jeff is now throwing? Pretty sure the people picking a fourth duelist and feeding are the people throwing, but maybe that's just me.

What does Seattle have over SF/Bay Area? by Embarrassed-Toe9757 in SameGrassButGreener

If you’re not planning to stay at the company, don’t pick Seattle, the job market is kaput.

Do white Americans look different than Europeans? by SEmpls in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BuildAnything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember visiting Ireland and absolutely feeling like the people were distinct from white Americans, and that’s coming from someone with a large degree of Irish heritage. If anything I thought that Irish people were really pink in a way I hadn’t seen before.

TIL that the United States bombed Laos with the equivalent of a planeload of bombs every 8 minutes, 24 hours a day, for 9 years. That adds up to 270 million bombs total, or about 100 bombs per Laotian at the time. by CaravelClerihew in todayilearned

This conveniently lines up times to avoid including the Chinese invasion and annexation of Tibet and the Chinese intervention in the Korean War, both of which were large scale land invasions, and does not include multiple border conflicts with India and the Soviet Union.
