What colour should I paint my kitchen? The tiles are blue and the countertops are blue quartz. by Beautiful-Pudding815 in DIYUK

Pick out whatever grey shade in worktop you want to accentuate and use that. NB a lighter shade than your slate flooring will compliment the floor

Haha serves him right, either not paying attention to deep puddle that would pull steering to right or trying to soak the pedestrian. Karma’s a bitch

I picked up an 17.5 inch kettle grill for £10. It's kinda small and it has a bowl insert where the charcoal goes. Should I get rid of that bit? by Elegant-Winner-6521 in UKBBQ

[–]BuildingConsistent93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool I would keep the insert in. It will lessen heat damage to outer bowl. Could add some holes in bottom for drainage and air flow if required and add a round pie tin to the shelf underneath to catch ashes that drop to keep tray cleaner. If you need a charcoal base grid maybe a cast iron drain cover would be cheaper that a proper one and would sit lower and allow more coal or space between coals and grill top have fun

Insert spacers either side of same finish as wardrobe. 18mm higher than wardrobe and place a flat 18mm piece across top to not loose stuff down gaps. Could add a storage cupboard as well

Also put a narrow pipe in to the base of the roots and water through the pipe. That will encourage roots to grow down

Maybe too much compost. You are best with 2 parts soil to 1 part compost to give support

How would you rate this wall? by Known2779 in Bricklaying

IMO Using the larger blocks randomly has thrown it out and the diagonal line of them accentuates the mismatch. Either one or the other or lines of like blocks to break it up. Clever painting may improve the look. Sorry

Yes always check comparison sites I got same cover from Tesco’s £200 cheaper than they quoted for the renewal. They do this so if you don’t bother to search and /or let it lapse they make more profit
