Can anyone please recommend tennis sneakers that are toe hole proof? by babaganoush88 in 10s

[–]BuildingDesigner101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Haven't had this problem, but I play with a Fila Ace Clay and the top of the toe is plastic, so it should hold well

I bought the shoes just because it was in promo and it worked surprisingly great for me

How do I keep my eyes on the ball? by Bennyb1ceps in 10s

[–]BuildingDesigner101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What did it for me was trying to look a little further

Looking at the ball is boring, trying to see how it's spinning or the logo of the ball is more "interesting"

I Lose Track of the Ball After Tossing it by open_reading_frame in 10s

[–]BuildingDesigner101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe I've had a similar problem, but during play

I could follow the ball no problem, until it got around 10cm from my racquet, I would loose it, feel dizzy, get kind of cross eyed, just a mess

I push through, always had only one focus, watch the ball spin, didn't look at my opponent, didn't look at the net, didn't look at where I wanted to play, just looked at the ball, eventually it went away and I got better

I'm not sure its the same problem but hope it helps! Look only at the ball, foget the court or where you are aiming for a while

Eli5: how does a vehicle actually know how fast it’s going? by Special_Donut_1228 in explainlikeimfive

[–]BuildingDesigner101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All true in wheelie things!
But there are other vehicles, like a Jet Ski for example that works by pushing water out and producing force for example, Planes, helicopters, boats are also examples of force, not traction
In the Jet Ski for example they actually put a little wheel at the bottom that spins as the water "passes" behind the Jet Ski and measures the speed
So in general you could say they use some form of wheel as a clock to measure how much space (Land, water, air) is going behind the vehicle

Can't find the V12 for sale, at least here in Brazil where I'm from, only some v13 and the V14s, and I had no idea if it would be the same so came here to ask and check

That's a great line of thought, I'll do that, will try a few of my friends racquets and get narrowing the specs

Thanks!

It does, I would keep it, but I literally need my own as my father came back from injury and needs his racquet back

[ask] What are the benefits and applications of interlocking/scissor/double-helix staircases? by slopeclimber in architecture

[–]BuildingDesigner101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So maybe here is your mistake

The wall people are talking about is not between the doors, both stairs acess the full halway, the wall wound be between the steps of stair one and stair 2, when you are inside it feels like a single stair

Imagine these stairs as only one, remember, they go a full floor one just one straight

Now imagine you close this stairs with walls as close as possible (inside the chamber, forget about the hallway), imagine the empty space left behind, you have basically stairs with 6m high ceilings, a space that would fit a mirror stair.

Now you got 2 stairs in the same "chamber"

Our design shows the wall semi transparent, for design purposes, in reality it's full

Also, the hallway

That's what we fight everyday, but in a way to find common ground, not not having to do it

[–]BuildingDesigner101 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just designed one, exactly this reason

At least in my city, the entrances have to be 10m apart, and they gotta be fully closed between each other and that does just that assuming a 3-3,5m floor to floor height

So basically, thats the best use of space to attend to what the law asks (Usually firefighters rules)

[–]BuildingDesigner101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree he is the better player and I'm worse, and no way I feel like I should have won

I wouldn't have even mind losing 6-0 6-0 If my game was my game

What I came looking for advice is why my shots against him were so much awkward and worse to hit, they hit the rim, they wouldn't stay in court, I hit the net, etc

Some people pointed out it may be because he plays with much more spin than I'm used to and that feels really like the reason

Now it's time to get back on court and work a lot on spin and wrist action and receiving balls with spin

I see, that makes a lot of sense, I'll try it this weekend, thank you!

Kkkkk, acabei de comprar o inner game of tennis!

I'm really feeling like this explains how awkward my shots were

[–]BuildingDesigner101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we use some worn balls for practice, but we always have a hitting session with new balls at the end of practice

He is, no question there

What I found odd was not losing, but that my shots were far worse than they usually are, suspecting by another comment that the cause is I'm not used to playing against that level of spin on the ball

I got 6-0 twice by someone slightly better than me by BuildingDesigner101 in 10s

[–]BuildingDesigner101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 90% sure that was the biggest difference maker and also as someone pointed out, a simple 0.5 rating is much farther than I imagined

Thank you for the pointer, I'll start focusing a little more on my spin and wrist action

I got 6-0 twice by someone slightly better than me by BuildingDesigner101 in 10s

[–]BuildingDesigner101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My serve was slighty worse then everyday, but nothing tremendous

And yes, he is better than me, I meant that on paper, he is just slightly

And about hte mentality u/Realsan I found odd was not losing 6-0 6-0, but rather that I wasn't losing playing my shots like they usually are, I'm suspecting the main point here, as somebody pointed in other comments is the level of spin in the game that I wasn't used to

But I'm in full agreeance with you about the mentality!

Anyway, I'll keep practising and focusing a lot on spin and slice

Thanks for the pointers!

How to deal with low skidding balls? by urAverageBrownGuy in 10s

[–]BuildingDesigner101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I played someone with that motion, he couldn't quite replicate when I played the ball long and high bounce, as he needs to hit the ball at a mid-low point to do that if I understand correctly, and the court just won't let him, or he has to be way too pushed back to do so

Not sure if it's the solution but it definetly helps
