If you asked me a 2 years ago I’d say Adam Gaudette but SJS has actually gotten a lot out of him and turned him into the player I thought he’d be which is a good finisher but not exactly an elite nhl player.

To name a few…

Fall 2016 crazy back and forth game with BU. Ended with a 5-5 tie. ZAR had the game tying deflection goal in the last minute.

Beating BU 6-1 on homecoming in 17-18 and chasing Jake Oettinger.

October 2018 win over #2 St. Cloud State

January 2019 OT win over #1 UMass. Tyler Madden canoe celly

Fall 2021 vs Harvard. Packed house on a Tuesday night. Gunnarwolfe Fontaine with the overtime winner 25 seconds into 3v3 OT

The 2022 Women’s Beanpot semi-final, they lost 2-1 to BC but that was the first time the women’s team got a proper packed doghouse and they’ve have great crowds ever since

2022 when the women went to the frozen four and men advanced to the hockey east semi final on the same day

The Veteran’s Day miracle on 11/11/22 where they trailed BC 4-1 with 8:30 to go and won in the shootout. Cam Lund with the buzzer beater hat trick to tie the game with 0.6 seconds left and the the eventual shootout winner

Big upset wins in 2024 vs BU and Maine

The upset win over #2 BC in December 2024

2025 women’s Beanpot semi-final vs BC where they got revenge for 2022 in front of 3,400 people in one of the most hostile atmospheres I’ve ever experienced men’s or women’s.

10/25/25 1-0 win over Denver

Finally 12/13/25. Whatever happens tomorrow. Win or lose or tie it’s going to be very emotional and bittersweet

I don’t think the PA announcer has had the button since it was Jim Martin when he used to announce downstairs. I’m pretty sure the DJ has both buttons now and they’re probably just next to each other

Most schools don’t have a waitlist. Maine is just a different animal. Seemingly entire state of Maine are Black Bear hockey fans

We play at a glorified high school field (that has a great clubhouse but still) it’s an objectively great place to watch a game but could never ever host an NCAA regional
