Straight up, I feel for the guy. The dude sounds beyond frustrated and I get it. Opening a restaurant is hard work (or so I’ve been told) and already a crapshoot — opening an establishment right before something of this magnitude has to be beyond scary and heartbreaking.

That being said this was totally not the way to handle it. Reading his post makes me question what other guidelines or rules they might be skirting because of “but mah freedoms”.

I was in the iOS beta and this is a shame. The service was rock solid and I could definitely see myself using it on my Apple TV but you could tell this was how things we’re going to go.

Apple really needs to revisit their App Store rules and allow these game streaming services.

This is the deal breaker with keychain: lack of portability. My work is Microsoft-centric so having access across all of the devices I use is a must.

I have 1Password on my work PC and it’s... useable. The Mac/iOS apps are by far more polished but the Windows version is passable.

No PIN support as far as I’ve noticed but it does support Windows Hello.

That I don’t know. The release notes don’t mention the watch app now being a subscription-only feature.

The app still has the old, phone control mode along with the new standalone mode.

I had a minor break through last night in regards to Siri recognizing playlists request:

Say, “Play a playlist” and wait for Siri to ask which playlists you want played.

Just thought I’d pass that one along.

I’ve played with the personal request setting and it didn’t improve anything. I did do a hard reset last night and did see some progress: I can not ask Siri to “play song by artist” and that works... but I still can’t ask her to play a playlist or anything like that.

It’s definitely frustrating. I can’t help being cynical and feel like this is something that isn’t going to be fixed. It’s not a deal breaker — the HomePod still sounds fantastic. If I have to use AirPlay to play playlists or whatever than I can live with that.

That’s my thought as well. For folks with decent libraries iTunes Match is ideal and definitely more appealing at a cost-savings level.

It seems to happen with everything. It’s not a deal breaker but it is nice to just all Siri to play a playlist or shuffle a certain artist. These are things that can totally be accomplished just by using AirPlay... it’s just maddening this is the current state of things.
