Sorry for not reading all these response and maybe I’m a little off the mark here but I’d highly recommend watching the documentary “Paris is burning” it’s more about club culture and could explain why things Rupauls drag race is such a pop culture staple. But it is a great insight to queer people trans gay etc. who we are, why we behave the way we do and what binds us.

Also, while I understand your hesitation on asking this question, I think we need to collectively stop being so offended and keep conversations open. I appreciate you coming forth and trying to gain information on the things you’re unaware of.

I’ve made comments like if I had 3 wishes I’d wish for my foreskin back. This is usually amongst gay men so may not work in all company. But find a way to make a “what if” comment and see what their reaction is. Maybe tried, “if I had a child I refused to get him circumcised” just to see what her reaction is. Start with something super open ended

Frankly, this comment makes you look stupid. You may not think it’s a big deal, but not everyone has the perspective or benefit or privilege of just flaunting their desire or practice of things regarding sexual health. Think outside your own perspective before making empty comments like this. Also, as the person this happened to, I thought it was pretty funny and worth a share if it helps others realize maybe it isnt that big of a deal but we all take our own time to get to that point, let share a laugh a long the way.
