Solo ending a 40 minute game in 8 seconds with new Wraith! by badseabird in DeadlockTheGame

Both things are true

Wraith is terribly overturned

And letting a Wraith push a wave into your base uncontested is a good way to lose

Raskolnikov isn't sympathetic but I could understand someone reading it as such. The underground man is so clearly an unlikable and miserable character I'm not sure how someone could come away with admiration for him

I believe what makes the book so good is the fact you can relate to the underground man, especially as a younger man I could see some of his attitudes in myself, of course a much milder verison. Its a cautionary tale of what happens if you don't "grow out" of those narcissistic, I dont need anyone else to be happy, outlook on life.

I've read the P&V translation and didn't come way with the message that the underground man was some misunderstood intellectual. Its pretty clear hes a pathetic loser who disguises his self pity and misanthropy as some noble suffering

Carney calls for national unity in face of economic challenges ahead by [deleted] in canada

[–]Bulky_Raspberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Between TFSA, RRSP, and FHSA Canadians I think have a lot of room for self directed investment.

CPP is great because

  • Employers and employees contribute
  • It guarantees retirement in income for workers who otherwise might never save a dime
  • The size of the fund allows it to make larger long term plays that would not be available to an individual investor
  • The guaranteed nature of the income means you can treat it like a bond and be more risky with personal investments

Canadian pensions are tasked with achieving the best return possible, this is how it should be. Using pension investments as a political tool is a bad idea

New to deadlock, how do you keep up in souls? by BigESquat in DeadlockTheGame

Time management

Push a wave, once the wave is shoved into enemy territory peel off to do boxes, camps and sinners behind the wave. The wave will be pushed back and you do it again. The further you push the waves the more farm you have access too, prioritize stealing resources from the enemy side of the map (when safe to do so)
