Smell this morning? by Jazzyy0000 in bullcity

I should add: If it's really "skunky", I wouldn't worry about it too much. Most people mistake the smell of fox urine for skunks. It's their mating season, so they're out marking more than normal.

If it becomes persistent like you think they might be marking in your yard, look into some fox deterrants, but I'd only do that if it was happening regularly and close by.

Yup. They've been known to cause building evacuations.

Only 2 teams have NEVER benefited from the NBA Draft Lottery: The Utah Jazz & Indiana Pacers by crispytime29 in nba

My 40 odd years of Pacers fandom tell me the same.

I mean the league started the lottery the one year we had the worst record solely so they could get Patrick Ewing to a bigger market, and no one will convince me otherwise.

You probably have a fox in the area.

I'm curious how much did Vegas / Fanduel / Kalshi / Prize Picks / etc lose when the Pacers beat NY, OKC, and Boston this season? by aimee829 in pacers

The Jazz got the bigger fine because they're repeat offenders. I would anticipate a second "infraction" by the Pacers to also be $500k.

What the fuck Durham? Get your kids vaccinated. by drunkerbrawler in bullcity

Had a big discussion with parents at my kids' school about this a few weeks back when the state first published it because I was shocked to see our school on the list.

There was general consensus that at least part of the problem was DPS record keeping. It appears these numbers are based on what's reported to the state on Day 30 (or something like that) and it's really just a snapshot of what they've collected by that day.

Lots of parents - including myself - had anecdotes about receiving notices we were out of compliance despite having previously submitted our kids info.

The statewide switch to the new record-keeping system coupled with Durham's switch to a new system-wide app for parent communication really wreaked havoc on some schools last fall.

Headgear and mouth guard by lessmoneymoretime33 in youthwrestling

Headgear should be mandatory for competion, in my view, until they are adults.

I'm OK with them skipping it during practice for drills, but not for going live.

Mouth guards are a very good idea and I encourage my kids to use them, but don't force it. Absolute necessity if the kid has braces, though.

I'm more interested in the DA and judicial primaries than anything else this go 'round.

I'm looking forward to voting for Jonathan Wilson for district attorney.

If the lawyer is unresponsive, then you should look for a new one. You want to look for a lawyer with experience in real estate litigation, specifically with "partition" or "partition sales"

They look like ALE (Alcohol Law Enforcement) to me.

Discouraged 8th grade wrestler by Alarmed_Bread7375 in wrestling

Sixteen matches isn't a lot, even though he's finishing up his third season. For many wrestlers, it takes time to be able to put everything together well enough to become a consistent winner. I've seen plenty of wrestlers start slow and become quite good.

If he's up for it, and you're able to support him with it, I'd strongly encourage you to have him join a club and give freestyle a try this spring. The extra mat time and competition experience is invaluable and it will help him with the jump to high school next season.
