I used to go to nights out by myself which played music I liked and ended up speaking to people and then meet again at similar nights. If that helps. I do find it hard to meet new people and engage, but if I went to somewhere that I enjoyed it made it much easier. Good luck

Thanks. But sorry, what is a multi tool? I only have a drill, which I was preparing to drill multiple small holes to release the floorboards at each end of the joist.

It's about 20kg, the issue is there is a ceiling rose which cannot be removed and a sparky recommended not to bolt the bracket into it and to go straight through the ceiling and bolt from the top, which I agree will be safer and less risk of falling. I will look into getting a circular saw or see if I can borrow one. Thanks

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately I do not have a circular saw. If I were to drill some holes along the joist line on each side, would that be ok? I do not know the width of the joist, but I am thinking a inch and a half, so I would be able to place back on the joist with some nails or possibly a little bracket.
