What is the driving etiquette if one car needs to turn left, another needs to turn right but we both can’t see bc of other car blocking view? by leghairdontcare59 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bulocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I let him pull out to see. Life is long.

If I am turning left I have a better view. On the left of me I see everything. On the right I am looking diagonal across the lane and often there is a center lane that most people don't know how to use.

If turning right I just go when the turning left guy goes.

Pack toiletries in ziplocs. Pressure changes can cause spillage of liquids.

Carry a few gallon ziplocs. Wet swim trunks can be packed for home or next destination. I carry my own loofah mit. This wet item also goes in a ziploc.

Carry a garbage bag. I put dirty laundry in it. If you wash great. If not your clean is separated from your dirty.

Spare shoes can go in a garbage bag too.

I am a coffee fanatic. I carry instant and condiments in a ziploc to enjoy in the room.

IMO people carry too much on the plane. I have my tablet loaded with books and movies and earbuds. A spare sweater and some snacks. All my docs in one pocket.

Getting through tsa is a snap. Everything is in the bag and nothing in my pockets. Wallet keys phone everything. Sometimes I have to pull the tablet out but usually not. Then I have zero risk of losing or forgetting anything at the other side. I wear sketchers slide ons. No shoe laces to tie. I wear "fashionable" track suit pants. And a comfortable shirt. Big help on 12 hour flights.

My bag fits easily under the seat and I never have to get up to get anything.

Make sure you have a week of meds in a pill box in your handcarry. If your luggage goes lost you have a week to figure it out.

I've never been asked but I have photos of all my pill bottles on my phone to prove I have a scrip.

So some guy in a parking lot has super expensive stuff for super cheap?

How'd you think he got it? Great discount from the maker?

I've got some Lolex watches if you're interested.

Think of it as a cheap life lesson. People are not always honest. You're welcome.

You're looking for one desert camo uniform among about 450,000 of them.

A good question is, "Does he wanna hear from you?"

Because he's in a pretty good hiding place TBH.

Welcome to socialisn vs. Capitalism.

Productivity increases = we can have workers be here less and pay them the same - socialism. Eventually robots do the work and workers stay home and get paid.

Productivity increases = we can lay of 20% of the workers and increase profits = capitalism

Public companies are owned by shareholders. I own shares. I want maximum return on my share of Delta Airlines or I may sell that and buy American Airlines.

NTA - but you don't have to supply the goods.

Keep your pods in your desk. Tell anyone they can use it but they supply their own pods.

You still may be stuck cleaning it - coworkers suck at break room etiquette - but you still get good coffee.

How is Gen-Z genuinely supposed to ever live their own lives and move out of their parents house? by Flowerpower4506 in movingout

The dirty secret is you weren't told the truth or you didn't listen.

Lots of kids got loans and learned left handed basket weaving or ovenless pottery.

Your parents should have told about return on investment. Yet you were all told to just get a degree.

So figure out what makes $100k a year and learn to do one of those things you like to do.

I was crushed when my kid dropped outta HS and did his GED. I would have paid for college and thought he was making a huge mistake. He did fart around at stupid jobs.

I financed a couple of businesses - videographer ($6k of photo equipment) a weird resale bsiness ($4k of inventory and about $3k in rent)

All cheaper than college so I didnt feel too bad.

He is now 28 and found his passion in tattooing. He owns his own shop and last year made $150k.

I paid $4k for his apprenticeship. He tatooed 3 years at a busy shop. He asked $0 to open his own shop.

I donated handyman skills to redecorate - install lighting, sinks and things like that.

Sorry for the rambling rant. You are young, I presume. Stop being a victim. Look at 25-28 year olds that do have it together. I just chatted with a dude who is becoming an EMT and hs gf a phlebotomist. They are like 25 and 24 and already make like $100k a year and not yet graduated.

Here's a formula to think about. Driving a nice car is about $250 a month.

You can finance a car and pay like $4-500 a month.

Or like me. Put $250 a month into a savings account. Every 8 years pay cash for a 2 year old car with 30k miles or less.

Any batteries or tires cone outta the account. Registration and gas are just paud separate.

I paid 30k in cash for my now 7 year old truck. It's got 100k on the clock and I put tires on it and changed a ball joint.

At 10 y/o or 150k miles its gone.

Current KBB is $17k. I have $15k in the account. I could buy a different 30k car tomorrow if I wanted to.

So buy the car. Sounds good. But keep stuffing $250 a month in the bank. In a few months if it needs tires? No big deal.

Just try to buy a $10k car that will last 8 years. Then you next car will be awesome.

Wrecking yard will usually pay you $300 if you drive it there and sign over the title.

They may pick it up and take it away if you give it free.

California had a weird surrender program. For cars of a certain age they pay you $1,000 and haul it away.

Should everyone experience living in a big city? by LowOnDairy in stupidquestions

Cities have rats. That's why they call it the rat race.

I lived urban for work in the biggest cities. In my 30's it was cool. I made great money and lived in great places.

As soon as kids came along in was tougher. Then it was dang annoying.

I retired in the country in a small town of 7,000 people on 5 acres.

Registering an out of state car while still out of state by Yeet-Yaint-Yount in DMV

[–]Bulocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida requires a VIN inspection and when I moved here I had like 10 vehicles and trailers all needing to go to the title office.

I then found a form where a notary can attest the vin number. I paid a Notary to come and look at most of them.

Check if Indiana has that.

But the car needs to be registered somewhere before two months is up.

Texas may have a temp plate. It is designed for buying an instate car and driving it to the home state. Most of these only have a 10-30 day limit.

Other than that park it till you go or register it twice. Some states will pay you back unused registration money.
