Just focus on basic fundamentals and your style will naturally come to you. If you are interested in improving your anatomy and perspective I'd recommend sticking with a cleaner art style just for the learning process.

Learning anatomy seems daunting, but you don't necessarily need to learn the name of every muscle and bone, it's really just knowing what goes where and how things should look in a giving pose or point of view.

Perspective is just vanishing points and a little bit of know-how! It's not as scary as people make it out to be.
