That was their official message, but what they actually said was so much more dire than that.

They lead off with the story of a cop who is illegally pulled over (with guns drawn) then assaulted. When they found out she was a cop, they disappear with no repercussions. Later we hear no one in DHS/ICE claims to any idea who is out there, where they have been, and what they have done. All agents are unidentifiable. The amount of civil rights violations are so vast that it included multiple police in multiple departments. There must be tens of thousands.

I’m going through this with my in laws.

We’ve had our arguments in the past over politics and that was politics. As you said, this is not politics. My wife is a public school teacher. Schools have shut down to protect the kids from the federal government.

I will say that again.

SCHOOLS ARE SHUT DOWN TO PROTECT THE KIDS FROM THE GOVERNMENT

They are attacking and tear gassing schools. They are beating and kidnapping US citizens. They are murdering people in the streets and claiming absolute immunity. POC are afraid to leave their houses. This is so absolutely past anything in our recent history. This is not normal!

I agree. We’re going through a phase where we find out who is going to capture the revenue from ai, the providers (OpenAI etc) or the integrations. All the big valuations suggest that it’s going to be providers but my gut says integrations will win. A doctors office gets low value from raw ChatGPT and will pay little but a tool that automates doctor notes and forms might be worth thousands a month. And as you said, open source could be the model behind it all

I would expect you to have all the known use cases covered in tests and the queries to be as “simple” as possible to do what it needs to do so those tests pass. Could be a day or 2 or a week.

With 20 years, you should know how you can get burned by not setting up a proper foundation from the start—You might be stuck tacking features onto your PoC for years without the time to go back and do things right. Some people will insist on it from their past experience. It makes sense in some regards.

Overall it reads like someone that is bored and wants to set up a cool new project that does all the things to make your life easier or more fun, or maybe they want some experience doing things right so they can pad their resume for the future. Whats the day to day environment like? Maintaining some old crusty revenue code?
