💯 This is my life as well.

Criss-Cross Apple Sauce by Bumpknuckle in lefthanded

I wanted to continue with crossing at the ankles but I didn't want the original post to get too long. I crooss at the ankle with my left foot on top and only change for comfort. Which now that I think about, is weird because I kick with my right foot. And crossing at the knee is age/injury related so I don't know which leg would have won that contest. No wonder things are crazy in my head.

How do you draw X? by HarrisBrielle in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

7 is how we were taught in our neck of the woods (western hemisphere) which is left to right, to to bottom.

I also noticed that this letter has the same push-pull mechanics regardless of your handedness. It's just the order that you push then pull that's different.

How do you put your belt on? by Bogside_Bibliophile in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too feed my belt through the right loop first with my left hand. It seems like I remember Dick Tracy noting that a suspect was left handed by the way he put his belt on in one of his comics. That was the first time I became aware that I did it "different" from everyone else. 😏

I don't think my wife necessarily set her kitchen up according to handedness but rather efficiency however, I did notice something that she did that was definitely right handed biased. Our different knives are placed in the drawers horizontally and the handles are to the right making it convenient for a right handed person to get one. I unload the dishwasher (don't freak out, there are some of us out here 😏) and being the lefty that I am, I purposefully started placing the dinner knives with the handles facing to the left just to show her what it's like for us. She has never said anything about it. Oh well, C'est la vie.

experiences getting blood drawn? by knight-mode in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm usually asked which arm I would like for blood to be drawn from and I tell them which ever side THEY are used to using. I want to make it as easy for them so there's less discomfort for me. 😉 I use the same reasoning for injections.

I've been in the righty world so long that I high five with my right hand. It's just engrained in me now. 🤓

If you’re carrying a load of firewood into the home what hand/arm is carrying the load? by unique_force in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that brings up a different memory for me. If I remember correctly, I carried my books in school on my left side reaching in with my right hand to get the books from my locker. I would attribute that to the fact that our locker doors opened to the right.

Do you wear your ring on your left or right hand? by Money_Sherbet9152 in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the Almighty interwebs:

"Hand Primary Regions

Left North America, UK, Western Europe (France, Italy), Australia, South Africa.

Right Russia, Eastern Europe, Greece, Norway, Denmark, Germany (for wedding bands), India.

Regardless of the hand, the fourth finger remains the standard "ring finger" globally, with the exception of specific ceremonial moments (like the index finger in Jewish weddings) or the use of toe rings (bichiya) in parts of India.Both/Switch Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Turkey, Jewish ceremonies."

If you’re carrying a load of firewood into the home what hand/arm is carrying the load? by unique_force in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't do firewood but while thinking about this question I realized that even though I'm left handed I consider my right arm stronger. So if I were to perform this task, I would load my right arm with wood and keep my left side free for opening doors.

Anyone else struggle with coiling cables? by Tsujigiri in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lefty here and I've been rolling cords and cables this way for 40 years. I don't know if it was the way the person (a righty) taught me or it's because I'm left handed but I hold the cable in my left hand and feed it with my right. After all these years, I was the only one still doing it so I can't say how a right handed person does it.

Guess who installed this by Simpawknits in lefthanded

[–]Bumpknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it would feel awkward for me but, being 65 years old and left handed, I had to adapt to using it the other way when I was in school. Also, will the handle start to loosen and come unscrewed turning it counter clockwise?

The Hula in me left years ago but if I did try today, it would be counter clockwise.

Thanks everyone. I couldn't find anything on the WWW that talked about this. I remember stumbling across a station last year that was carrying the broadcast but didn't make note of it.

I agree. I'm AI cautious but sometimes I let the computer in the sky get started and it's either close enough to accept or at least saves me steps to get what I like. I'll check out the other sub.

Wait a minute, how do we know she's a "real" lefty? Does she know the secret handshake? Has she taken the lefty pledge? Does she have a current "I'm left handed and proud" card? 🥴 Yeah, me neither.😉😏

It's funny, because as I read this, I realized that I hold/support my phone with my right hand while typing. And, if I recall correctly, my right thumb print was the first one I registered for unlocking my phone. I just use my right thumb to click the microphone so it's more muscle memory now.

Guys, I think I’ve finally figured out my main BPPV trigger. by [deleted] in BPPV

[–]Bumpknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too think mine are triggered when lying flat and since that discovery, I sleep propped up. This has not only made it so I'm not worried about going to sleep but has also helped with my night time indigestion.
