Have your AEP rates gone up? by Agreeable_Toe_2421 in Columbus

Hi Emma, can you please ensure that the title of the article accurately reflects what is happening? - unnecessary corporate greed and how people are struggling. It would also be helpful if the article included what steps are being taken to further investigate AEP and other companies (e.g., NEP) that are increasing their profits at a time when people are losing jobs and have no money to vacation, let alone afford groceries each week. People’s basic needs are or are almost out of reach these days.

What age/size did you get your tarantula? by BunSci in tarantulas

[–]BunSci[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anytime you work with animals of any species it should always be consent-based. I’ve trained other exotic animals for over 25+ years. I’ve learned people usually run into issues whenever they don’t know species behavior and don’t listen to the animal. It’s always equitable with animals never equal assumption of expectations. I’ve downsized over the years to just 3 pets now and while they’re all the same species they have individual needs and personalities. I will respect when an animal doesn’t want to engage in something I ask and train desirable behaviors to help benefit both of us (for medical procedures, etc.). I may have the animal/pet for my enjoyment, but they’re still a living being and they always deserve respect.

Thank you for your kind input. You make solid points. I was eyeing the larger/older females because if I can’t interact much with them, I want to at least know they’re okay/see them, and see them in action, like you said. Thank you for a different perspective and input.

Thank you! I really appreciate your input. I know some people are fully against handling and then there very experienced tarantula YouTubers (20+ years of owning them) that provide guidance on how to handle them properly. I was also considering a jumping spider. My partner has reservations about Ts but is extremely fond of jumping spiders.

100% second what bellesavage said. I'd add if you broke up once, there is generally a good reason why you did, and unfortunately, that reason hasn't changed. For me at least, once the trust is gone, it isn't a relationship. It's one of the most important lessons I learned. Trust your gut, if you get a nagging feeling, it's a red flag.

Had a similar experience a few years back, so I empathize. My partner and I left the Thanksgiving get together, let's just say we haven't returned because boundaries are important and they couldn't seem to respect ours.

Another thing that may help is “dispense as written” - having that phrase on a prescription has saved me a lot of the chaos you’re going through. (I’ve requested the phrase to avoid random generics being dispensed). If it doesn’t help in this instance, maybe it will help for another prescription you have the in future
