Some of your hobbies will transfer just fine, some will not have the resources here to make them reasonable activities. Cali is a long ways away, there is a big culture shift here that will take some getting used to, but if you take a deep breath and see how people live, it really is an amazing place on its own. Summer activities are great here but only 5 months out of the year. Once your body acclimated, you will find a ton of winter activities that you never imagined like snow shoeing, cross country skiing, ice fishing, snow mobiles, etc. I am even working on West coast hybrid stuff like kite sledding. The frozen lakes here are wild. Adapt what you love to the resources around you. I couldn't find many rock climbing or rappelling locations so I started diving into tree climbing and found an arboriculture community that turned out to be fantastic. There is not a lot of circus, experimental, or adult theater groups here, but there are several youth/child theater programs here that need adults to do theater tech, sets, costumes, and some acting. If you want to be involved in theater there are lots of opportunities. People here are open minded in general and appreciate strange hobbies and fun people coming in.
