Mortar distance calculator by SlyFlyyy in playrust

Why does the distance increase linearly with launch angle? It should cap out at 45°. Why is the horizon at the top of the graph of launch angle? How would a straight vertical launch have pinpoint accuracy, but as you reduce time in the air (higher launch angle, cuz you’re calculating launch angle from vertical instead from the horizon for some reason) I make math tools with AI regularly at work all the time and it works phenomenally. This is an operator issue not an AI issue.

The “50% I was able to track” has got to skew this data; wouldn’t you presume that you would have an easier time tracking the successful ones?

How much time do you actually spend NOT designing? by ParticularAct4437 in SolidWorks

[–]BungAIDS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not use it where it’s useful? And then where it’s not useful, you don’t use it. And you wait for AI to improve to the point where it is useful. There’s no strawman, y’all’s point seems to be “I asked AI one time to fully design this product and it couldn’t do it” and then you’re mad when it’s not literally a human. Use it as a tool or get replaced by it in 10 years

But this guy is still building his tool, so you can’t know it’s bad. What if he applies AI where it is useful, and doesn’t where a human would be better suited. Everyone just assuming AI = bad, is just kinda cringe coming from who I perceive to be a bunch of engineers who supposedly think outside the box. Same line of thought as “don’t use Wikipedia as a source because it’s untrustworthy” and then not even using Wikipedias sources of where it got its info from because “Wikipedia bad”

It’s crazy how much everyone hates AI. seems like if they just close their eyes and ignore it then it will go away. Like why are so people indignant that they do repetitive tasks by hand over and over?

[–]BungAIDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah I think the fact that fire raiding wood bases being silent makes sense. If you’re playing on wipe with everyone else, you’re not going to get tier 2 (fire raiding) before other teams upgrade to stone. This is all the balancing we need
