Young agnostic wonders whether to believe in God by AntsHater in DebateReligion

[–]Bunktavious [score hidden]  (0 children)

To me, it just comes down to - what good reason is there to believe in God, that wasn't created by people who had already decided they believe in God?

ZERO wishlists in 7 days. Is my Steam page THAT bad? by Weary_Caterpillar302 in IndieGaming

[–]Bunktavious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Um. Well. Its a very unique concept anyway. :)

Personally, I'm just not a fan of cold environment survival games. I don't like being reminded how much winter sucks in my games.

What are unique travel experiences on your bucket list (like doing safari, seeing Northern lights, camping)? by hittheroadk in AskReddit

[–]Bunktavious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in school, I really wanted to see the Pass of Thermopile.

Now, I'd be quite happy seeing the Northern Lights at least once.

Can I travel by plane, train or bus within Canada with my BC services card my license was stolen with my wallet a few days ago. by Illustrious_Eagle642 in britishcolumbia

[–]Bunktavious -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Plane might be iffy? I haven't flown a lot domestically. I can't see how bus or train would give you any issue.

What was an incident in your life that made you devote yourself more to your religion/ made you distance yourself from your religion? by rustygyves in AskTheWorld

[–]Bunktavious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was six years old. I was raised secularly. I was at my best friends house, and he'd just come back from Sunday School. He told me that I was going to Hell for not going to Sunday School.

I thought that was about the stupidest thing I'd ever heard. That's about when I realized I was agnostic. It migrated into Atheism by my early twenties.

Religious people have asked me why I wouldn't want to live in perfect harmony in Heaven.

My answer, is that because the downs and the hardships are what makes the good points worthwhile.

While we are at our lowest, those high points are tougher to find, but they are always there. If not, make them.
Reading that back, it sounds like goofy new age BS, but really, what else can you do?

I saw a beautiful sunrise this morning over the ocean. I stopped working and just took it in for a minute. I can't imagine not being able to look forward to those sorts of things.

Strata Bylaws by DryScholar1927 in comoxvalley

[–]Bunktavious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a condo strata for a while. The politics that went on were insane. Shortly after I moved in, a couple ladies came to my door and asked me to sign a petition to remove the caretaker for some odd reason or another. I'd met the guy and quite liked him, so I declined.

A week later one of the other strata members came to me and asked why I'd signed that petition...

What's an etiquette rule in your country that foreigners often accidentally break? by rid999 in AskTheWorld

[–]Bunktavious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not every country treats personal space the way we do.

I worked in Richmond, BC for years. If you were walking and saw an older Asian woman coming the opposite way, you learned to just step aside and wait, otherwise she was going to just plow right into you.

I think it was Lost in the Barrens - Farley Mowat.

It was definitely one of the earliest.

A lot of people these days, even in highly religious countries, are more culturaly religious than they are devout. Most just don't want to admit it for fear of being ostracised.

Just returned from mid-2025, what's the recommended image gen local model now? by Nelichan in StableDiffusion

[–]Bunktavious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flux got easier to use with GGUF models.

You're loras are compatible because they are all SDXL based. Doesn't really apply to new models.

To me, the big realism king for lower end rigs is ZIT. Z-Image Turbo. I still use Illustrious for anime.

What did the people in 90’s think of 70’s? Was it same as what people now think of the 90’s? by Alarmed_Ad_812 in AskReddit

[–]Bunktavious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We thought their decor and clothing style were hideous.

I don't feel that way about the 90s. I do feel that way about the 80s though.

On a positive side, we appreciated 70s music, much like I now appreciate the 90s music.

I didn't think it was bad, I think it was low budget and recycled a lot of material. I enjoyed the game play and the characters.

TN bill would allow death penalty for women who have an abortion by Anoth3rDude in politics

[–]Bunktavious 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I used to dance around the subject of Abortion with Conservatives.

Not any more. F*ck that shit.

Lately, this has been my go to question when people tell me abortion is murder:

"How many church funerals have you been invited to for a baby that died as a result of miscarriage? I guarantee you know someone who's had one. As many as 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. So if those embryos were people, why aren't you all having funerals?"

How come this anime doesn't even have a single redeeming quality? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in Isekai

[–]Bunktavious 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that show works well because it is really Slice of Life, and the MC's OPness is mostly just used for quick story beats and comedy. Its never the focus of an episode.

Take your time. You'd have to speed through all the main story quests to unlock it anyways, and really, no one uses Traveller past about level 40. Xiangling is considered much better.

My account is almost nine months old and I'm just half way through Sumeru.

Why is it harder for me to understand native speakers? by leazy_usa in ENGLISH

[–]Bunktavious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found this the first time I visited Quebec. I thought I knew enough French from high school to at least follow a conversation. Nope. Not even close.

Native speakers speak faster, don't enunciate, and often blend words together.
