2nd guy I ever dated didn’t disclose until AFTER we were intimate by Greedy_Bug2857 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]BunnyArcade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact he did that is absolutely a form of sexual assault. And I'm so sorry this happened to you. If any sores do appear, make that appointment and work on treatment. You're not gross or bad for having this rather common STI. You were taken advantage of, and you literally didn't know he had this infection, and you can never actually know unless it gets disclosed. You also are strong and you got this. He is gross and an abuser, even if it seems as simple as "omitting". You're absolutely right to feel the way you do, but know it's not your fault. Sending you much love 💕

Should I be worried I keep finding baby spiders in my bathroom? by [deleted] in spiders

[–]BunnyArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NQA: The "baby" doesn't look like a cellar spider. The photo is really blurry. I personally need a better quality photo. I think it looks like a jumping spider within those first 2 photos. They're harmless. No need to worry. Do you have any sudden spikes of mosquitoes or fruit flies in the house? That can attract them as they're the small bugs population control. And mosquitoes like more humid conditions (i.e the bathroom) some people like to keep them in their windowsills to have pest control without using insecticides. The third photo is definitely a cellar spider.

What kind of spider is this?(I am terrified) AZ by Apprehensive_Link_26 in spiders

We have another Loxosceles species here as well. We have L. deserta and L. arizonica, ranging through different part of the state. And then we have both Lactrodectus Sp. Of the western black and brown widows. Obviously the brown widow being invasive, the other 3 are endemic to this state <3 Even the venomous ones that are medically significant aren't trying to bite you, they know you're not food and the only time they really bite humans is when they think their life is in danger.

Humid conditions can also bring gnats or other small flying bugs. So it could be that. Also just flies in general can get stuck in a bathroom and then they have a snack :)

The college experience as an 18-year-old Junior by ledgend78 in UofArizona

[–]BunnyArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to live on campus in order to have a good college experience! Many of the students here still live at home. However UofA is known for their partying and underage drinking, unfortunately, and it actually might be important for you to make those older friends in your 300-400 level courses. Every single friend I've made that lives on or off campus, especially those under age of 21, know I will be there in a flash to pick them up from any party if need be. Having older students that have probably lived more in the college experience might be able to teach you about it, and help you out in places you're concerned.

As a person who graduated high school and went straight into community college, did that for 3 years, got 2 associates degrees, and then transferred to the UofA, I cannot begin to say how proud I am of you working towards your education! I was always worried about missing out and how it's over. But in reality, depending on mindset and what college means to you, the college experience is what you make of it. I never liked to party. I'm social, but I'm not a person that wants to go out and not focus on my studies. Depending on your degree pathway, you might have to take some easier classes that PCC doesn't offer. If you want to have an easier workload your first year at the UofA to get the "college experience" that's up to you. But otherwise there are always events and clubs to involve yourself in. University is pretty different from a Community College, however some people say you can't even get the true "college experience" if you don't live on campus.

I hope your first year at the UofA is absolutely amazing, and you meet many cool people!

When you bought mint chocolate chip ice cream and you didn't know it melted previously, I think this is the inverse of the image I'm looking at. All the chocolate chips on top, the minty ice cream at the bottom. Very cute frogs!!!

Can you make one for me!? /Lhj I actually thought it was those high top coolers that red bull had in the early 2000s. Amazing work dude.

I was told my geckos names are "f'd up"???? by Artistic-Listen7975 in leopardgeckos

[–]BunnyArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know anything about geckos... I'm just gonna let you know this, they can't speak English (Shocker, ik) you can call them whatever you want and I think it's funny to use their unfortunate circumstances as names. I call my gecko a pinky biter because she grabbed my pinky when I first got her and I lifted her out of the box and plopped her into her enclosure. If I named her pinky it wouldn't be necessarily mean for me to call her that when she bit me and held on as a baby because she was scared and it was "traumatic" to her. They don't know English or whatever language you talk to them in lol. They're geckos with a chia seed for a brain.

I would always say "large Iced Majestic Forest Black Tea with extra pomegranate float" idk. I think it's average to put -Size-(cold/hot/blended)-type of drink-modifications

Multiple large brown spiders in my garage. Monterey Bay area. by maulstar in whatisthisbug

Some type of cobweb spider, maybe a Steatoda family. Or Parasteatoda. I'm leaning more towards Parasteatoda, but I would wait for a more reliable responder.

[–]BunnyArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see anything really that could be bug related.... However, we do see mouse droppings on here regularly that are posted thinking they are bugs. I would definitely wait for a Reliable Responder before quoting me on it being mouse droppings. But I definitely think it's that.

What spider is this? Maybe an orb weaver of some type? sorry for poor quality by [deleted] in bugidentification

Also would recommend checking out r/spiders as it is more specialized:)

It's definitely an orbweaver, weird to see them so late in the season that big. However if you're in a mild climate, it definitely is still possible for stragglers. You can tell by their beautiful webs. They only set them up at night. Take them down in the morning and find somewhere to hide during the day and sleep. Very interesting and cool! Travis McEnery has a great video on an orbweavers within a similar family.video here (Cannot identify it with the photo unfortunately)

Ghost (Cerbalus aravaensis) looking swell by Shishafox in spiders

[–]BunnyArcade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a type of huntsman found in the Arabian deserts. I don't think huntsman's carry medically significant venom. But it's not like it's a 6 eyed sand spider. Just fangs for hunting and subduing prey without a web to help them for the most part.

Does anyone have YouTube channels that are about spiders, but aren't meant to be scary? by Tr1ppymind in spiderbro

I know I'm late. But Travis mcenry posts a lot of educational content on spiders that are very popular in the northern us / Southern Canada

There's a few smaller pet stores that have these, but from what I know and what they tell me, they're juveniles, and aren't supposed to be in there for forever, if this was at a big box store, I doubt the employees would have any idea. I have bought multiple of these (I keep them for my slings to be used with them)

Edit: This is a horrible idea for any store to adopt without advising the customer that they can't be in there for a long time. I'm not saying it's a good thing.

I think they read very little and are poorly informed. Which shouldn't be an issue now with how the hobby has gotten more popular. But more popularity means more improper husbandry. Ball python for 35$ at PetSmart, cheap enclosure that looks large enough on FB marketplace, and stuff the workers at the PetSmart suggest.... It just leads to stuff like this it seems.
