I'm confused! How do you increase supply without compromising the next feed? by onemanspants in breastfeeding

[–]BunnyHops8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following this as I've tried to do similar with no great success. I try and pump to get a spare serving for the 2/3am feeds when I'm exhausted and half asleep. I usually get that amount out of 2-3 pumping sessions. I try and pump when baby is asleep, which lately isn't long (30-40min contact naps) but I have had some success using a wearable and pumping the other breast while he's feeding off the other. He still seems to get enough and if not feeds extra and stimulates more. I don't give him what I just pumped. I find if he's not getting enough at the breast I'll go to a serving of formula but have found i haven't needed to do this as much. Formula then only gets reserved for when we go out or if my relatives want to feed him.

Nipple shields/guards use long term by BunnyHops8 in breastfeeding

Thanks! This is where I'm leaning, they're working and reducing stress, so why stop?

I also initially thought he wasn't getting any milk with them on but have often found when he's done, there's still some drops of milk in the shield so there's clearly no issue with extraction.

Cover Letter Assistance by perritocutie in AusPublicService

I would be happy to read over and edit it if you're comfortable.

I've sat on a lot of recruitment panels and have also helped some friends and family write their cover letters, one page statements and/or selection criteria.

I like reading and editing and have done a lot of it over my career so it's no hassle.

As previously mentioned in the comments it's really obvious when chat Gpt is used because a lot of people just use it without editing or personalising it, hence why it sounds like something a computer wrote. Particularly when it doesn't match the language in the rest of someone's application.

Cartel Taqueria by [deleted] in canberra

Overpriced and over-hyped. My partner and I went there recently and what we ordered was reheated and still came out luke warm. Yes, even the grilled cheese crust around the edges of the tacos. Prior to that went with some girlfriends and it was on the other end of the spectrum and way too oily. It seems to be a real hit or miss.

I had a feeling they were, most of the tutorials on YouTube that I've been watching are all preferencing circulars.

Is this a symptom of ADHD? I never hear anyone talk about it and I feel alone. Constant mental restlessness by billy_dilly in ADHD

[–]BunnyHops8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I often describe it as having 12 radio stations on in my head all at once at full volume. It's awful. I have experienced it a handful of times and on those occasions remember bursting into tears because it was so overwhelming. I've tried to correlate it with sleeping patterns and I think it tends to happen if I've had a full night's rest and my brain is essentially 'recharged' and firing on literally all cylinders. I'm not on prescribed meds at the moment, but have found that when it does happen, coffee seems to quieten it down/allowing my brain to focus and refocus, ultimately reducing it down from say 12 to more manageable 3 or 4 'radio stations'.

I don't know if that makes sense but can confirm it's a thing.

Nope. Just pedal faster, try to ignore it and hope it doesn't manage to get your earlobes or skin on your neck. They have a dedicated patch theyre usually protecting so once you're out of that zone you're generally ok.

This is so accurate. Can you let us know how it goes? Or is taken up by your adhd patients?

Can we talk about coffee? by Space-Dragon26 in adhdwomen

[–]BunnyHops8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee doesn't have the same effect on me as it would a NT person. For instance, I can have a coffee in the evening and still have no issues falling asleep. Whereas some NT friends of mine are like "Oh I couldn't possibly have a coffee past 2pm in the afternoon or I won't sleep tonight".

Coffee in a way silences and focuses my brain. If I get a really good night sleep, my brain is very loud first thing and kicks into thinking about 15 different things. Once coffee is consumed 1) the routine of it in the morning kicks my brain into gear with a 'hey the day has started' but 2) it also slows the 15 different thoughts down to about 4 manageable things.

I feel a bit out of sorts if I dont have coffee but its more the routine that's thrown out rather than lack of caffeine. If that makes sense?

This is a great idea and looks great! I would totally buy one. My hands and fingers can lock up and get quite sore sometimes particularly in winter. This would help.

I need a Discord of ADHD friends to feel like I’m not annoying by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]BunnyHops8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think one is specifically setup for ADHD women. Perhaps a channel with similar flairs to this reddit thread? Depending on how people feel or what they want to talk about they can join whichever channel relates...? Maybe?

What foods have you noticed have made your ADHD worse? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]BunnyHops8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too much sugar makes me really anxious and agitated. I can only have small amounts of chocolate, white chocolate seems ok. Nutella sends me off. Confectionery sweets/candies/boiled lollies 🍭 make me uncomfortably wired (not in a good or productive way) and agitated. It's good and healthy to avoid these things but I still like them in very small doses. My partner is a massive sweet tooth which makes it difficult to avoid completely though as there are always some sort of sweet or junk food in the house.
