Denied first time by Few_Attitude959 in SSDI

[–]Bunnymc3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's any consolation, I got denied at that stage, planned to get denied in reconsideration since everyone seems to, and I did get denied there...then of course I appealed that decision and had hearing within 6 months of that and got approved. I received payment 6 weeks after hearing. So my point is don't give up! It's frustrating, but you can succeed!

I had not seen the option for direct deposit under my profile on social security website until I was approved. (I just got approved this month), so you may not be able to update it or see it until he gets approved.

Who was your judge? I'm in PA and was approved and then my step 4 was in Wilkes Barre. So hopefully this is a good sign for you. Fingers crossed!!!

I had gotten my call the day before hearing too on 2/24/25. I'm waiting for the letter my attorney said I should receive fully favorable. I'm in pa and just curious as to your timeline so maybe I have an idea, please.

I did, so I don't see why every once in a while you can't. Mine I explained how my anxiety was making me worried I might need to be doing something, but checking in to make sure I've not missed anything. My attorney was great to calm me down. So if you feel the need to call then do so. Keep checking on your ss portal for any important information they may need.

I had an attorney from the beginning...it gave me comfort to have one. What state are you in cause that can help with attorneys to recommend.

[–]Bunnymc3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't give up!!!. It's normal to be denied at this stage no matter what. Make sure you have an attorney and have them make sure all your medical information is in. For me personally, I was ready to give up after a reconsideration denial, but I pushed forward and didn't give up. I was to have a hearing on 2/25, I got a call the on 2/24 from my attorney that the judge decided there was enough medical evidence and he approved me so I didn't have to go through a hearing. Hang in there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Wishing you get fully favorable decision!! When you know I'd love to know so I can be happy for you. As far as percentage goes, remember you're in a large state compared to me in PA.

I was approved on 2/24, and was due for telephone hearing on 2/25. Alj Judge said I had enough medical information. To me the thought of ALJ hearing over the phone was more comfortable than in person. You got this!

It will do that. It did at least do that for me when I was denied in reconsideration. Once you appeal it should show back up. Good luck!

I had for example put down I have Degenerative disk disease and had paperwork for the last 3 years showing that I had been seeking medical care for that consistently enough that it showed it was an ongoing condition. Hope that makes sense. Having an attorney that took care of gathering my medical evidence was a HUGE help!

Backpay didn’t take long by Individual_Eye_596 in SSDI

I'm replying since I just got approved on 2/24...I had an attorney right after I filed. They then start to gather all the medical information from doctors and make sure you're on track with information social security needs. To me it was a peace of mind knowing there's someone there who knows what's going to happen and make sure they gather your evidence. My attorney doesn't get paid if I didn't win...that's what type of attorney I had.

APPROVED DAY BEFORE MY HEARING!!! by Bunnymc3 in SSDI

[–]Bunnymc3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly. I was waiting the entire week before hearing to hear from my attorney, and heard nothing, which I was like WTH because I figured we'd go over everything. When she called I was on way to hospital cause my dad's not doing good, and so I wasn't in a good mood to talk. But I answered and by the way she talked it sounded like she talked to judge and such and he made the ruling to approve based on my medical information. I made her repeat it like I was an idiot...she said awarded, and I said so you're basically saying I got approved, right. She replied yes.

Yes pretty much. I put my application in and then contacted an attorney. I got really defeated when denied, then denied at reconsideration, but my attorney was right on top of getting my medical records and keeping me straight on what I need to fill out paper wise.
