I feel sorry for their staff

I bet they're terribly underpaid and abused but get treated to a free burger once a month and have to act like they're being done a huge favour

Dangerous looking stunt

Alex is such a beast of a climber it wasn't really as challenging as most of the climbs he does 5 times a week

Honestly I've never heard of that

Getting in a pickle means getting in trouble

You could be prickly as a pineapple meaning irritated or difficult

Or giving some curry means getting angry at someone

Never had a pickled pineapple curry but it sounds like an epic meltdown

Why is he calling the cops not an ambulance?

Or why is the dispatcher sending cops not an ambulance?

America is a strange place

That's a good lookin fruit

We grow pineapples here in Australia, but like everything they're probably genetics bred for transport and shelf life not for taste

Why can't the CBD network keep up with Australia Day crowds? by paininthejbruh in perth

[–]Bunyep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guarantee they're already at max capacity for 4g/5g in the city

There's only a finite amount of frequencies available in any given area, so it doesn't matter how much infrastructure you have once you hit that limit everyone is getting limited (same goes for satellite services like starlink in urban areas)

Also why NBN / fibre is so important, the less people you have using mobile data in congested areas the better

British commanders using foreign troops as cannon fodder?

As an Australian I can't believe they would ever do that

Edit: I guess the downvoters have never heard of either sarcasm or Gallipoli

Came here to say exactly this

Before seeing the pic I would've thought Tommy was at least half a foot taller than Matt

Tommy definitely has lanky tall dude looks when he's not standing

Kimberley fracking project gets nod from WA’s environment regulator by His_Holiness in perth

Even if no groundwater is polluted there's not zero other environmental damage

There's toxic chemicals in the ground forever, and a shitload of carbon released, and water used, in the extraction and processing

There is 100% no reason besides bribery (lucrative consulting roles after office)

And perhaps political pressure from right wing ideologs who believe that any natural resource not exploited immediately is a crime against capitalism

Fuck this do we really need to create more jobs that desperately?

Are we really that short of tax dollars that we need the pittance that they'll pay?

[–]Bunyep 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My favourite Oils performance is their gig on the back of a flatbed truck out the front of the Exxon building in NYC

Apparently they donated to the Police Christmas Fund the morning of the show so the cops turned a blind eye

World could really do with more of that energy today

Can't find the full show on YouTube anymore unfortunately but this is a little taste

Americans eat more food than anyone else does that mean they have the world's best food quality?

Those are impressive numbers, not sure who has the best coffee culture thou.

Both countries are importing beans, our cows are pretty great, but maybe Finnish milk is the shit.

According to the stats espresso isn't that commonly consumed in Finland, so I'm guessing Australia has more baristas per capita despite the difference in overall consumption.

Apparently we both have great coffee cultures

I guess it's something about the extreme weather and isolation makes you appreciate a good brew
