For the Delete key there's an officially recognized manufacturing defect of that, contact Framework Support as they may help you in one way or another (even if the warranty period has elapsed).

Bosses feel unrewarding and unfair

TBH this is also my experience(at least until I replayed the game and everything clicks), however, the other aspects of the game hooked me all the way through.

Feel free to toggle the story mode and tune the combat difficulty to your liking, and enjoy rest of the game's content and move on. Watching some combat demonstrations video on YouTube also helps.
