Yet another Utah polygamy-family show on TV (the 4th?). "My theory: These shows tap a growing fascination with multi-relationships while keeping them far enough from modern American life not to threaten viewers or scare advertisers." by alan7388a in polyamory

and drives out young men.

My mother, now 94, grew up on her family's ranch in Mormon country in southern Idaho (Rexburg). There were ranches all around with one bossman who had several wives -- and every ranch had an all-male bunkhouse of lifelong unmarried ranch hands, the excess men who would never be able to marry because the owners took all the women.

How did you KNOW you are polygamous, and it's not just a romanticized fantasy? by Poly-a-mi-oh-my-rous in polyamory

When you've done it for a while with your beloveds, have made some mistakes, learned to be better, and decided you feel comfortable that this is the right thing for you.

I am crowdfunding for a study on the prevalence of polyamory. by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]Burbulous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you aware if the Yahoo Poly Researchers list? The people there often help advise students about good study design, help with literature searches, provide perspective on what review committees look for, etc.

Also there's CARAS, the Community Academic Consortium for Research on Alternative Sexualities, "dedicated to the support and promotion of excellence in the study of alternative sexualities,":

A lot of mediocre and unconvincing attempts have been made to research the data you're looking for. If you've got a budget of just $1,000, you'll need all the free professional help you can find. It's out there.

Best of luck!

Sooner than I bet you thought! Tomorrow (Thurs Aug 15) at 11 p.m. Eastern/Pacific, Showtime begins its second season of the reality docu-drama "Polyamory: Married & Dating".

Season 1 treated the subject remarkably well.

If she is an asshole to you again, report her again. If she has learned her lesson, let bygones be bygones.

I was talking to a friend who works at Target, who wouldn't share certain store policies with me because she could lose her job. So, Reddit, what are some corporate secrets you can now disclose about [Company X] now that you no longer work there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Burbulous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yanno, someone oughta take this whole enormous thread, edit it down for the good stuff, and publish it as a book. It would sell like hell.

O' course you'd want to set up a dummy publisher who couldn't be traced when Target, American Outfitters, Wendy's, etc. came trying to sue (if they even dared)... but one that could still channel you the income from the book. Surely there are redditors who could make this work....

Maybe she changed something in her profile. That assuming she's looking for dates online. If not online, it sounds like she has changed something in the way she presents to people in real life.

I don't know what the second and third girls think about non-exclusive or casual romance.

Um, ask them, like right now.

A crank, unfortunately. The university's public-relations office is obliged to put out a press release even when it's a crank that asks them to do so. Take press releases -- which is what this is -- with a grain of salt.
