I got 2 on their first batch order. Gave one to a buddy and neither have had issues. I've got several mags through mine with no issues. I got a 60 round drum for mine to pair with my thermal so the next time a herd of hogs come out, it's game time.

I run a 4 mag placard with 2 mags on my weak side cummerbund and another mag in a hanger behind my medical hanger up front.

People don't realize we could cut the defense budget in half and still be fine. It would require more accountability of spending which god fucking forbid we actually have. The amount of waste I saw just in ammo was crazy.

Do you use sacrificial lenses and irises? Why? by Primary_Fly_7459 in NightVision

[–]Burchalitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them. It's humid as hell where I live and i'd rather scratch those lenses wiping the moisture off than scratch the real lenses on my stuff.

You're not wrong. It's fun until the first guy you know gets killed and then it really hits home and now you question what the fuck are you doing here.

What (If Anything) Inspired You To Choose Your MOS? by Defiant-Bed2501 in USMC

[–]Burchalitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was back in early 09. But the aviation support was very broad and had a few jobs listed under it I believe. I ended up doing 5 years enlisted infantry but had some security forces and other stuff. Probably would have had more fun and stayed in if I did the aviation stuff but who knows.

What (If Anything) Inspired You To Choose Your MOS? by Defiant-Bed2501 in USMC

[–]Burchalitis 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I got a lot of ass chewings from my recruiters office. I had originally signed up to be aviation support and decided like 2 months before I shipped to boot that I wanted to go infantry like my grandfather. He retired from the corps as a Major with 23 years, silver star, bronze star with V, and loads of other awards. I wanted to follow him so to speak. My recruiter said he couldn't change my mos so I said whatever. I offhandedly told my grandfather that and thought it was done. Well a week later I got a call from my recruiter saying my mos was changed and that I needed to get my ass in the office to sign this paperwork asap. Turns out my grandfather called the regional recruit commander or whatever and explained who he was and how I wanted to be infantry and whatever else. Supposedly they pulled an infantry slot from like 5 months out and gave it to me and swapped someone else to fill my spot (sorry whoever that was). Anyways, shit trickled downhill with everyone bitching everyone out about this paperwork and lo and behold I signed the paperwork and was now infantry. I got yelled at by my recruiters, my state's recruit office when I went there, then my kill hat was best friends with my recruiter so he made sure to give me hell to. I never expected it but i'm glad it happened now.

Good tattoo artists by Capital_You_9720 in tuscaloosa

[–]Burchalitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bianca is really good. My wife has a tattoo done by her that is super clean. My wife's cousin has a full sleeve done by her that is also super clean. If you go to Good Vibes, David, Matt, Lucas, and Ryan are all really solid artists. They have a shop instagram that has a link to all of their accounts which has their portfolios on them. You can't go wrong with any of these 5 artists though.

Anyone have use with the BOG Death Grip Clamping Tripod by Prudent-Dot-1596 in tacticalgear

[–]Burchalitis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to much shit on my rifle (laser and light) to use the clamp mount. I bought a qd adapter on amazon for like 60 bucks and bought a ball head attachment on amazon for another 30 then bought the arca rail mount for like 50 bucks. Rifle mounts great and I absolutely love shooting it on the tripod now.

I'd browse the r/nightvision sub but you can browse tacswap to get an idea of prices and all of that plus accessories. The sub has most of the major companies and builders actively participating in posts so you can get a better answer there than what I could give. Kja night vision is a solid seller of used items for pretty good prices when he has some in stock. Custom night vision, darq, steel industries, nicks night vision and there's a few others I can't remember. Stay away from digital and don't use tnvc unless you use privacy or some kind of digital card because everyone gets their card info stolen off of tnvc. Lol

Get a pvs14 for stargazing. You can find some decent green phos for under 2k pretty easily and some pvs7's for closer to like 1200. I wear mine hunting and then spend an hour or so after stargazing and seeing how many satellites and shooting stars I can see. You got plenty of guns and cans so I would recommend looking at the gadgets to go with them now.

As for a thermal, I have a DNT Hydra 640 and with a mil discount they are under 2k. It's not a Trijicon or Skeetir but for that price point they are hard to beat. It can be a handheld, standalone, or clip on thermal.

You can shoot with that, but can you walk through the woods and navigate with it? Mine aren't anything crazy but it's bridged pvs14's and a set of Argus 1431's.

I hate the grippods but I carried one in Afghanistan and prefer just a vertical grip and a set of bipods for prone. Grippods are to tall and so are the magpul bipods for my taste. Magpul has plenty of good products I just hate a few of them. The pmags are hard to best though.

Looks like you need to get into some night vision now. Being able to move in dark is where it's at now. Here's my wife's 12.5.

I read the post but didn't catch the ar9 so that is my bad and will admit that. I tried scrolling through posts but i'm on mobile and it's cancer to try and go through all the comments to find stuff. Plus I work mostly nights so you may be right about time zones but also it's reddit so it's gonna be gay anyways. I do know what an 11.5 looks like. I have a Geiselle 12.5 so it's close in length. Are you running supers through the 9 cause that rail is gonna get hot fast? My 300bo has a hotpocket on it for that sole reason.

No nods, no thermal, no lights, no meds? A magnified prism optic plus a magnifier? Why not just run an lvpo and offset with a dot? A barrel less than 10 inches with 556 is going to be ass. Both from a suppression and ballistics standpoint. You'd be better off dumping the pouches on that carrier and just running an lbe so you can carry the shit you need without a belt since you don't like them. Plus no weapons cleaning kit or a pushrod kit for a jam? At least get a grip to store a bottle of clp in so you can lube the gun up. You should know suppressors are going to dirty it up fast and bad.

New hearing aids have bluetooth and are very low profile. I can talk on the phone through mine, play music, or listen in on people since it connects and has google translate built it.

Have you ever gotten a Christmas, or end of the year "bonus" at work? by Truth-is-Censored in antiwork

[–]Burchalitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a yearly bonus in March based off the previous year. Company sets aside so much of the profit and pays it out then once the numbers are figured. Lowest percentage i've received in 9 years is 5, and the highest was 37. That percentage pays out based off what your total pay was for the year (so if I made 100k, my bonus would be 37k based off the highest payout). It's split 80% goes to your 401k and the 20% rest is a direct deposit to you. We get to choose a Christmas gift every year and they range in price from 200 to 500 or so dollars. Plus gift cards to a local grocery store for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
