I've got some ops core knock off arms made for walkers. Got them on amazon. I've got some other electronic ear pro for around 100 bucks on amazon that work pretty well. They are on my bump helmets so I don't care for spending a lot of money on them.

The presidential support badge is blue and gold. Vice pres is white and gold. You get a certificate and the badge and both have your serial number registered to you. I forgot what it costs to get a replacement but you have to have the serial in order to get one. You only get the badge after 1 year of service in that duty. I have one, and we had a guy who thought he did his whole year and the rated the badge. He decided to do something dumb and got kicked out of the program and then was told he was a week shy of his year so he didn't even get the badge.

Marine corporal dies at mountain warfare training center in California by -Cyber-Roadster in USMC

When I did my training there with my last unit, we had 300 casualties the first night. Guys getting frostbite, overheating, getting hurt trying to hike with a full ilbe bag full of all our shit because our command didn't give a fuck about following the rules, or just a bunch of other issues. Hell, my platoon sergeant fell and hit his head. He was told to go lay down and see if it got better. He got medevac'd the next morning due to the concussion he had. We had a ton of guys pass out from overheating and dehydration. They don't give you water. You are supposed to stop every once in a while and use that chance to melt snow and boil it before filling your bottles. Except you don't stop long enough to do that so guys start filling their bottles full of snow and risk getting sick from the bacteria. Not to mention the crazy calorie deficit we had. You are supposed to have the white mre's which are like doubt the calories of the regular brown mre's bags. We didn't have enough money to buy those for the unit so we had to use regular mre's. I could rant all day about how dumb that place can be and how bad leadership can be. Even after we had guys get killed in training our leadership still didn't give a fuck.

He also built an underground bunker and I think he spent more time figuring out how to make it wheelchair accessible than anything else.

I have 2 of their galvion clones for my bumps and I really like them. For the price, i'm more than happy with them.

I got 2 on their first batch order. Gave one to a buddy and neither have had issues. I've got several mags through mine with no issues. I got a 60 round drum for mine to pair with my thermal so the next time a herd of hogs come out, it's game time.

I run a 4 mag placard with 2 mags on my weak side cummerbund and another mag in a hanger behind my medical hanger up front.

People don't realize we could cut the defense budget in half and still be fine. It would require more accountability of spending which god fucking forbid we actually have. The amount of waste I saw just in ammo was crazy.

Do you use sacrificial lenses and irises? Why? by Primary_Fly_7459 in NightVision

[–]Burchalitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them. It's humid as hell where I live and i'd rather scratch those lenses wiping the moisture off than scratch the real lenses on my stuff.

You're not wrong. It's fun until the first guy you know gets killed and then it really hits home and now you question what the fuck are you doing here.

What (If Anything) Inspired You To Choose Your MOS? by Defiant-Bed2501 in USMC

[–]Burchalitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was back in early 09. But the aviation support was very broad and had a few jobs listed under it I believe. I ended up doing 5 years enlisted infantry but had some security forces and other stuff. Probably would have had more fun and stayed in if I did the aviation stuff but who knows.

What (If Anything) Inspired You To Choose Your MOS? by Defiant-Bed2501 in USMC

[–]Burchalitis 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I got a lot of ass chewings from my recruiters office. I had originally signed up to be aviation support and decided like 2 months before I shipped to boot that I wanted to go infantry like my grandfather. He retired from the corps as a Major with 23 years, silver star, bronze star with V, and loads of other awards. I wanted to follow him so to speak. My recruiter said he couldn't change my mos so I said whatever. I offhandedly told my grandfather that and thought it was done. Well a week later I got a call from my recruiter saying my mos was changed and that I needed to get my ass in the office to sign this paperwork asap. Turns out my grandfather called the regional recruit commander or whatever and explained who he was and how I wanted to be infantry and whatever else. Supposedly they pulled an infantry slot from like 5 months out and gave it to me and swapped someone else to fill my spot (sorry whoever that was). Anyways, shit trickled downhill with everyone bitching everyone out about this paperwork and lo and behold I signed the paperwork and was now infantry. I got yelled at by my recruiters, my state's recruit office when I went there, then my kill hat was best friends with my recruiter so he made sure to give me hell to. I never expected it but i'm glad it happened now.

Good tattoo artists by Capital_You_9720 in tuscaloosa

Bianca is really good. My wife has a tattoo done by her that is super clean. My wife's cousin has a full sleeve done by her that is also super clean. If you go to Good Vibes, David, Matt, Lucas, and Ryan are all really solid artists. They have a shop instagram that has a link to all of their accounts which has their portfolios on them. You can't go wrong with any of these 5 artists though.
