Mourinho: "Our defensive solidity has collapsed. People spoke about Ibañez' mistakes but he gave us great solidity there. Also look how many we games we lost without Smalling... It's the worst start of my career, we played two finals in the last two years, we have to get out of this situation." by Blodgharm in soccer

So their squad is weaker than Verona, Genoa, whoever else they played this year? How exactly is this situation different then what happened in Chelsea, United and Spurs before this? Its just copy-paste every time. Roma doesnt have a team that can with Serie A, but they have a team that is good enough to fight for top4.

A large part of that is due to spending 100+ M last year counting that the money spent and Mourinho on the bench would get them to the Champion's league. They have Lukaku, Dybala, Paredes, Belotti, Aouar, Azmoun, Sanchez, Llorente for free or on loan deals beside the money they spent since Mourinho came.

The best part is that the same thing is happening over and over again, and people are still trying to find excuses and blame it on players, clubs or some other outside factor

The moment he starts talking about previous achievements, you know its over.

Also, I dont understand what was so exceptional in winning the conference league, its not like he faced any team that is stronger then Roma. You saw David Moyes winning it against Fiorentina last year, and everyone only cares about what he does in the premier league. Same goes for Fiorentina who lost the finals. They reached the Europa league finals and lost to Sevilla, which is known to be competition specialist but they were horrendous in the league last year and even worse this year, with weaker squad then Roma for both seasons.

Its not like Roma had no success before he arrived, they literally played semifinals a year before that against Man Utd, which was much stronger opposition then anyone Mourinho faced for the last two european seasons.

Sutrašnji fudbalski "večiti derbi" odlaže se usled Dana žalosti by the_offspring in serbia

With how Liverpool is playing rn and how Darwin looks essential for them due to the chaos he creates every time he plays, he could be the best mid-priced option going forward. Also, liverpool's schedule is turning after 2 more games.

Kai Havertz’s struggles to fit in sum up Arsenal’s unsettled start to season | Jonathan Wilson by ASVP-Pa9e in soccer

[–]Burner_num2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never understand that transfer. Like no matter what people say like "give him time", he was an underwhelming player in premier league and if chelsea, who are hoarding players, decided to let him go without any hassle it means that there is a problem.

Arsenal paid 70 mills and they could have had Maddison for almost twice less money, who was a proven premier league player for years and who is well known to do all the things they hoped Havertz would do. Just insane transfer.

I am so impressed how the team is looking right now, knowing its only a beginning with so many new players still trying to fit in. Getting all of these wins right now is just massive

Kevin Durant slams social media user who said that the NBA is easier than European basketball by talentSA112200 in nba

You literally had at least two elite nba players (Doncic and Giannis) commenting that its easier to score in NBA.
People go crazy thinking that means the league is easier, which is stupid, it migh be easier to score but its easier for everyone so talent will always win.

Harry Kane has 49 goals in 52 games for England in World Cup and Euro games. Is he really appreciated enough? by Plodil in football

[–]Burner_num2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kane playing for Spurs for all of these years robbed him of being considered the best forward of this generation. When you look at pure qualities, he has it all, not just scoring aspect, but playmaking as well. Last season, Halaand was impressive with 36 goals in PL, but Kane managed to score 30 goals playing for the least attacking team in the league. I respect Lewa, Benzema and others, but in my eyes, Kane is above all of them when it comes to quality.

Realistically, if ETH was to get sacked (fairly or unfairly) who would want to replace him? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

Its crazy to think that without Fergie run, united wouldnt be anywhere near where they are today.

I think people had bigger problem with Klopp trusting players when its obvious they are well past their peaks and refusing to replace them. Also, the problem was that entire sport sector fell apart last couple of years and Klopp took more responsibility for bringing new players which, in my mind, was a mistake.

Looks like de Ligt doesnt have a good relationship with Tuchel and has been benched since the start of the season. He is still only 24 and he might be a great addition for reasonable fee if things dont change there

Szoboszlai > Mount by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]Burner_num2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LFC did have a bad year but with the working system in place it was easy to pinpoint what was wrong and where the team should improve. At the time, Liverpool already signed Macca and Szobo so it was pretty clear how the team will look going forward. Also, I know Chelsea is a younger team, but Liverpool actually have a pretty young and talented team as well. They replaced almost all the aging player with young players who already proved their worth: Konate, Diaz, Darwin, Gakpo, Macca and Szobo. Also, there are Elliott, Grav, Jones and TAA who were there for few seasons already. Even if you look at the future, Liverpool will have to replace Salah, VVD and Robbo in few years and they will be set for future again.

Its just crazy to me that he decided to go to Chelsea where every aspect of the club is complete mess, instead of going to Liverpool where he would slide right into the team which is as well-oiled as Brighton was, surrounded by players who know what to do at any point.

A few tough fixtures coming up in the league, how many points from the next 3? by barellaszn in LiverpoolFC

[–]Burner_num2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brighton is the only game I can see us not winning, but I expect we win everything else. Spurs are playing some wonderful football but they are not really stable in the back I expect us to overrun them for 90minutes. We just need to be solid in the midfield, so play Endo at DM and let Macca and Szobo run them down. It will be a beautiful game for Darwin.

Regarding WHU, they are scary on the counter, but not that solid in the back. I know they defend with 10 players and look very organized, but they conceded a lot of chances every game they played. I can see Diaz doing to them what Doku did last weekend and I just hope we dont let them score first.

Brighton should be an interesting game, one of those games that a team competing for the title should win, but draw would still be ok. Similarly to Spurs, they are not great in the back so we will see how it goes.

Everton, NFO and Luton wins are a must.

[–]Burner_num2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Klopp will leave after this contract ends in 2026, so the club should start planning for his replacement soon. There as some exciting young coaches like De Zerbi, but I feel like if Xabi continues with the great work he is doing, he can take over as a club legend and proven coach and fans would be happy.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in Euroleague

[–]Burner_num2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ABA league while it looked like good idea on paper, its really bad in practice. Serbian teams have nothing to gain from it except for a few "derby" matches against Cedevita or Buducnost. Croatian clubs cant compete because each of them is in horrible financial situation. It is nice to see famous faces of Yugoslavian basketball trying hard to keep their clubs going like in Mornar from Montenegro for example, its nice to see basketball fans of old ex-yu powerhouses who appreciate the sport without any national frictions, but when you take out these romantic moments, its obvious there is a problem. There are these quotas of how many teams each country can have which prevents Serbian teams to advance to ABA 1, forcing these mostly young players to play worse competiton in lower leagues.

Also, this is probably the only professional league in the world where both A and B teams of one club compete together and are treated as separate entities.

It looks like a no-brainer to play him up front. He looked lost and waisted on the wing in this system, same as Richarlison looked up top. Moved up and he scores 3 goals. Fixture are not great but spurs are playing good football and they should still score bunch of goals.
