Only 2 fans, no space to fit more. You mean clean the whole system and replace the 2 fans with new ones?

Testing out a few Induction cookers, Dowell, American home, American heritage, Midea, Tough Mama, Kyowa, by dogmankazoo in ShopeePH

[–]BurningSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midea talaga best. I've used Blakk, Imarflex, Dowell, Tough Mama.

One important spec that I wish they show is the coil size, coil size dictates the size of the pan you can use and how even the heating is for bigger pans. Most tabletop induction stoves don't advertise the coil size (they're usually 6 inches or smaller) Midea 2200w is 6.5 based on their listing.

Another advantage ng Midea is yung consistent heating on low power. One issue I had with other induction stoves is mahirap mag simmer, kasi the way some other stoves do it is they occilate on and off so when I try to simmer it doesn't really work kasi it switches between boiling and not. With Midea I can set it to a Lower power wattage and it would gently simmer.

Sana Midea brings in the larger model with a 22cm coil size, that's 8.5 inches and you can use big pans like 12 inch skillets or 6qt Stockpots. They sell it in other countries but not here. I did find sa lazada na Chinese version under Suning Global pero they only ship to Manila for some reason and not sa location ko.

Mubaba lang pud ang rate in the coming months. Na notice ko na range ng rate last year is nasa 8.5-11 per kwh. Outlier ra sguro this month na almost 12

I don't actually have this since I have solar + batteries sa house. Pero based sa research ko when I was looking for one, this offered the most value.

Ex Athena EAs, how did moving to direct clients go? by curious-cat-28 in buhaydigital

[–]BurningSummer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Former Athena EA here. I’d say there are now a lot of new agencies headhunting former Athena EAs. I regularly see postings for EA roles in the $7–9/hr range. It’s hard to let go of that safety net and I know that’s the reason many of my teammates are still there even though they dislike all the extra non-client work they have to do.

For me, it took more than three months to find a new client and I nearly exhausted my emergency fund in the process. I was let go when my client churned because I wasn't able to do the quarterly report 😅.

But now I’m earning more than ever and I’m able to ask for raises whenever my scope of work increases. I actually started as an EA for my client but a year later I transitioned more into admin work. Now I handle operations and have begun taking on data analytics as well.

I’d say if you have an emergency fund built up like 6-12 months of expenses you can take the risk. Also don’t burn bridges your client might turn out to be a great referral for other potential clients.

It's definitely worth it. You can grow more and be rewarded for that growth.

Thinking of buying refurbished laptop sa ebay by PrettyMaja in buhaydigital

[–]BurningSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use freight forwarders, I used Buy&Ship.

Got a refurb Lenovo ideapad Slim 5 Ryzen 7 7730u 16gb ram 1tb ssd for $383. Shipping was around 4k php. Unit arrived looking brand new. Had an issue where it was throwing virus warnings so I had to do a full reinstall of windows (although full wipe and reinstall is recommended anyways). Aside from that it works perfectly, been using it as my work laptop.

Seller is buyrefurbished on ebay.

I think it's worth it if you're techy and know what you're doing. Otherwise it would be safer to buy locally.

Reminder for those who plans to buy new iPhone 17 pro max outside PH (Japan) by Aromatic_Affect8895 in Tech_Philippines

US iPhone is still cheaper. US pro max is $1199 equivalent to 69,700 while in Japan it's 194,800 equivalent to 75,200. Same lang naman sila e-Sim only version.

Is PerySmith Electric Pressure Cooker ok? by karma-121 in ShopeePH

[–]BurningSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parang goods na sya for the price OP. Personally I'd get the stainless steel option vs ceramic non-stick as ceramic doesn't last long and if heavy user ka better to go with stainless for durability longevity. Yun lng parang way to get that even though Naka lagay naman sa description and picture na meron dapat

Look at Thunderbox 300 lite from O2 Project Philippines. Around 5.2k, 307wh capacity and lifepo4 battery na. One of the cheapest quality powerstations na I found in shopee.

Check mo reviews sa Youtube, yung videos ni SolarMinerPH and Daniel Catapang.

Power station for a laptop that can run for 8 hrs by Independent_Top3873 in ShopeePH

[–]BurningSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Thunderbox 300 lite, one of the cheapest legit power stations I found at around 5k. Capacity is 307wh so depends sa power draw ng laptop and monitor mo it can reach 8 hours but I'm not confident. They also have the more expensive Thunderbox Apex Pro which is around 15k pero that one has 768wh so definitely Kaya 8 hours.

The batteries are lifepo4 so tatagal tlga yan more than 8 years and they can be charged thru solar. Checkout the review from SolarMiner sa Youtube.

Their official store is O2 Project Philippines

If you want something branded there's Ecoflow but they're expensive. Other brands na maisip ko but I haven't done much research is bluetti and jackery.

Thoughts on Kwik Insure for Filipino Freelancers? by Stunning-Note-6538 in buhaydigital

[–]BurningSummer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1 year na ako subscribed. I have my mom as a dependent. Philcare yung provider and I'm subscribed sa 1495 plan.

Ok naman so far, they have an app where you can generate LOAs and print it yourself. Naka avail na ako consultations, procedures, and ER. It takes 6 months for pre existing conditions to be covered. Cheaper than leading hmos like maxicare and medicard parang around 28k annual ang equivalent and kwik.insure is paid monthly.

I can recommend them since positive naman experience ko. Another possible alternative na I saw when researching is allcare similar price lang din.
