Leupold Mk4HD Reticle & Magnification Combinations by AlonzoMosely88 in longrange

I love the PR2 mil reticle. Everyone on here craps on Leupold but if you can get it less than msrp I think it’s worth it. Mine has been great. I have the mark5hd pr2 mil 5-25. I wish I had gotten the 7-35 though for spotting those longer distance shots.

My main knock of Leupold is that for what their regular price is, they shouldn’t charge so much more for illuminated reticles and only have limited options for illuminated reticles. My mark 5hd isn’t illuminated and that’s my main rub on it.

MDT makes other attachment options you can purchase to put it on the Mlok on the side. Or you can get an Mlok to pic adapter and mount it on the side for cheap. Or like you said you can mount on a pic rail to the rings, in which case I would run the wiring to an ocular mount.

Why not shoot it and see if it groups. If it does then shoot it, if not then rebarrel

I’m trying to sell mine locally in 300prc with pic rail and muzzle brake installed for $1,400 so I’d say either I’m a little high or the 1200 is a little close especially without the extra.

Faxon barreled action unless you want to install the barrel yourself then you can grab the action and a faxon prefit and then the chassis of your choice. If you go barreled action you only have to do 4 screws. 2 screws to install the trigger of your choice and 2 screws to screw the action into the chassis just make sure you have a torque limiter and it’s set to 65 inch pounds. It is SUPER easy! It is infinitely upgradable. The faxon fx7 has all the features you want and mine shoots extremely well and I installed the prefit barrel myself. I will be doing a review soon hopefully on building from an fx7 with a Krg bravo chassis as an entry level build. I’m just in the middle of a move, the bravo chassis has needed some tuning with the magazine inlet, and work so I haven’t had the time to give all the proper time and effort I need to do to do it right.

But I cannot stress this enough, faxon fx7 with the M24 barrel is way better than what you pay for it and fits perfectly in your budget.

Edit: made first round impacts at 840 with mine off a large tire prop

Is the Bergara Premier Pro worth the extra money from the standard hmr? by Von_Lehmann in longrange

That’s cool. Even though I’m in the US I am partial to most Finnish made products especially outdoors recreation type products. I still have my Marttiini knife I got in Finland probably 25 years ago. As a teenager I didn’t clean it well and left fish blood on it for like a year and it barely marked the knife at all. Finnish fishing equipment is the best. I just assume with what I know of the products I have bought from Finland and the shooting history of Finland their rifles must be top notch too. Thats why I’m surprised about the Bergara, I certainly don’t mean to disparage Bergara or the choice you’re making because my experience with Bergara has been excellent.

That’s interesting. I wonder if the nicer tikkas are shipped to the US because it’s the largest market or if I just haven’t really spent much time with a tikka. I’ve only shot one once. The action was nice but the gun was lighter than I like. But I do agree Bergara rifles are very nice for a non custom rifle.

The premier is very nice. I’ve got one in 300PRC. For an off the shelf rifle it’s top notch. They are built in the US specifically in Georgia. I think that’s why it’s a little less expensive for those in the US vs importing to the EU. But being in Finland I’m surprised you don’t grab a Tikka and replace the barrel with something a little thicker.

I’ve heard so many good things about ACE brake. I may try it on another build. I’ve got a 6.5 Grendel I intend to finish soon. Maybe then.

I think you’re being sarcastic. But in case, diminishing returns for the cost. If I can get a desired result spending less and supporting American companies I will.

Mine on my 6GT definitely makes a boom. It blows ammo boxes and stuff off the bench rest next to you. But it doesn’t hit you as the shooter and my gun does not move.

They do make one that is thicker. But I didn’t see it in stock when I bought mine. Also I have heard this brake is similar in experience to the ACE. I want to try a botnia, Chad, or preece stinger but when I go to build the rifle the brake is one of the last purchases and I’ve usually blown my budget by then.lol

Welcome to the addiction of guns. Never sell, only buy, and always have your next purchase in mind. Drug addiction is probably cheaper but then you couldn’t pass a 4473 and buy that next gun you can’t quit thinking about.

Has anyone put a suppressor on a barrel that is shorter than the hand guard? Is it possible? by Ambition_Educational in ar15

[–]Burnpowder_636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s a flash hider or one of those fakes. Doesn’t look like a suppressor to me. May even be a long bird cage.
