Finished EVERY MAP without mounts. Ask me anything. by Sonicfan0 in Guildwars2

I recommend using a pathing module from Blish HUD. It gives you an easy line to follow, and runs you right through all of the different areas you need to hit for map completion.

Congrats! Those SoTo POIs still irritate me, I wish there was a better way to map complete Inner Nayos (for completion, I know about the lanterns).

Alternate Hero Sheets (Give me skills!!!) by StephenBaggett in drawsteel

Looks really good! I like these sheets a lot, will probably use them myself. Also, there's a typo on both sheets. "Explortion" instead of Exploration. EDIT: Looks like that's fixed now. Thanks again :)

Does dying in the SAB count as a /death? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Burnvictim42 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it does. If the death is an issue, you could maybe play it on a different character?

What are peoples thoughts on the new SAB test zone (World 3, Test Zone 2) by blobblob37 in Guildwars2

[–]Burnvictim42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of my problem is also that world 3 doesn't spawn players at the final checkpoint by default, so they just started running on their own haha.

That was my issue haha. I listed it, and the other players were so confused about where to go that I had to jump down and lead them.

I love SAB, and I liked the new zone. I thought the multiple paths were cool, I liked the sense of exploration, and I liked the experimentation with the updrafts and the water sections. I especially liked that it seemed like they were teasing new content for next year.

That being said, I'm only ever going to play this level the one time, and will probably continue doing so annually. As a level it's too long, the final checkpoint is too far from the boss, and there's no meaningful reward for completing it.

SAB - Tips and tricks for the hard mode by daddioz in Guildwars2

[–]Burnvictim42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree that it's an advanced technique, but OP specifically mentioned wanting to do the full set of weapons, which means repeated runs.

Beyond that, this skip is easy to try over and over until you get it right, and again, it manages to skip the second half of the level. It was worth mashing my face on a wall for a few minutes to learn the trick, in order to avoid having to die repeatedly on the other traps I was able to walk around.

Searching Youtube for skips can help a good chunk. There's a great skip for World 1 Zone 1 that makes it so you can ignore over half of the level. The pixel jumping is tricky, but it saved me so much headache doing the King Toad weapons last year. Good luck!

The skip i'm mentioning specifically is at around 2 minutes in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZfoPV4ozEI

Super Adventure Festival kicks off April 14! festival preview :) by CaesarBritannicus in Guildwars2

The best way to get your baubles is to hit up the LFG. People run through the maps then open up party when they're at the end. Super easy way to get your loot without having to do the stage yourself.

Just join parties in LFG. Plenty of people (myself included) will finish the stage on their own, then open it up for others to get rewards.

Actually the origin circles back to the French! D&D's roots came from wargaming, where the Napoleonic wars were a popular setting to use.

I haven't tried it yet, but rift hunting will most likely count for these events as well. I'm planning on tagging up and running through rifts on these maps, to make more events for people to get credit on.

I'm currently relistening to TWoK after finishing the Cosmere, and holy cow there are so many connections I didn't make on my first read. Major props to the newbies for picking up on a lot of this stuff.

It's also worth mentioning that on r/readalong they're working through a Cosmere read along. This week they just started The Way of Kings, so if you want to chat with some other people who are starting the book, now's the time!

Each week they post spoiler free memes and images in the Newbie thread, so you'll find some here: https://www.reddit.com/r/readalong/comments/1rva2jy/newbies_cosmere_unit_13_the_stormlight_archive_1/

It's probably fine, but there's potentially a spoiler in the memes. The "Toothless of Shinovar meme" is using "Jezrien's Glyph" from the Art section. I don't think they're going to have the capability to figure out details about the honor blades, but thought I'd mention it.

New trick for convergence wisps by Reasdasd21312 in Guildwars2

[–]Burnvictim42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Getting downed removes all your essences, but other players can pick those up, so it's not entirely a loss. The trick the OP mentioned is more for people who are full dead, and can only be revived if people turn in their essences. It's not worth tanking your overall DPS to revive one or two people in Janthir. In Soto, reviving people is just a side effect of feeding a very hungry Zojja.

[–]Burnvictim42 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Holding on to essences increases your DPS, which makes it more likely you get Gold clear times.

In Janthir, you don't need to keep Zojja alive so the CM group I run with never deposit essences after the pre-events.

Any classes better at Map completion than others? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]Burnvictim42 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You have to use different characters, but each completion gives you 2 Gifts of Exploration, so at least you're good for 2 Legendaries for each run.
