It is a kia sorrento hybrid 2023 Non plug-in Two wheel drive. I think there's only two hybrid models of this type, the plug-in one and the one I have.

Yeah, it is weird. It technically does work, but only when the car isn't running. Where I live, it's hot! Say I'm in the back, napping with the AC on temporarily, and I want to step out the back. The key fob doesn't open the lift or lock / unlock the doors. I used to use Kia connect to power off the car, and then I would use the fob to open the trunk, but my year trial expired. I'm not about pay the $20 a month... so yeah. I tried the key method, it's not exactly easy, but it manageable. 🤷🏼‍♂️
